Additional Persecution News from China – July 8, 2013 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 5 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 10 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Yang Shuangju Detained

Ms. Yang Shuangju was arrested on May 5, 2013, when she was distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. She was sent to the Qiliyan Detention Center and then transferred to the No.2 Detention Center where she is currently held.

2. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Guo Xiuqiong Detained

Ms. Guo Xiuqiong was arrested by officers from the Jiahe Police Station on July 3, 2013, when she was distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in the Beicheng District. She is currently in the city detention center.

3. [Ning'an City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Fan Bao Sent to Brainwashing Center and Ms. Zhao Fenglan Arrested

Mr. Fan Bao from Fengchan Village, Shiyan Township, was arrested on July 4, 2013. He was sent to a brainwashing center.

Ms. Zhao Fenglan, 67, was arrested at home by officers from the Ning'an Police Station on July 5.

4. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Hu Yongzheng and His Wife Detained

Mr. Hu Yongzheng and his wife from the Wanghua District were arrested by officers from the Wanghua District Criminal Police Team on July 1, 2013. The elderly couple was distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Their home was ransacked, and they were taken to the Nangou Detention Center that same night.

5. [Jinyun City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Shi Ruilian Detained

Ms. Shi Ruilian was arrested on the morning of July 4, 2013, as she spoke to people about Falun Gong and the persecution. She was detained for eight days.

6. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Mr. Shi Guoliang Tortured in Prison and His Life in Danger

Mr. Shi Guoliang, 37, from Jijia Village was illegally sentenced to nine years in prison in May 2007 at the Nanguan District Court in Changchun City. He was sent to Shilingzi Prison in Siping City.

During the nearly five years of mistreatment and torture in prison, Mr. Shi has developed myocarditis, a severe heart disease, and chest effusion. His life is in danger. Mr. Shi's mother and sister went to prison to visit him on June 28, 2013, and were told that Mr. Shi has been hospitalized in Xinkang Prison Hospital in Changchun.

7. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhao Yuanying Detained

Ms. Zhao Yuanying was arrested by officers from the Guangrong Road Police Station on May 10, 2013. She is now in the Chengdu City Detention Center in Anjing Town.

8. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Fan Zhongyan and Ms. Song Shiquan Arrested

Ms. Fan Zhongyan from Lianhua Township was arrested on July 6, 2013, and sent to a brainwashing center.

Ms. Song Shiquan was arrested on the afternoon of July 7.

9. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yang Chunling Arrested

Officers from the Sartu District Political and Legal Affairs Committee and 610 Office arrested Ms. Yang Chunling at noon on July 5, 2013. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Xiuyu's Home Ransacked

Officers from local 610 Office and Domestic Security Division ransacked the home of Ms. Li Xiuyu in Hanjiabu Village on the afternoon of July 4, 2013. They confiscated a photo with the image of Master Li, pictures illustrating the exercise instructions, and a computer.

11. [Pingyuan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Kou Yong Detained

Mr. Kou Yong was arrested by officers from the Pingyuan County Police Department on the afternoon of July 6, 2013. He is currently held in the Pingyuan County Detention Center.

12. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Zhiqun Sent to Prison

Ms. Yang Zhiquan was sent to Yangmahe Women's Prison in Jianyang City in April 2013.
