Additional Persecution News from China – June 13, 2013 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 5 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Peng Xuemei Transferred to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Peng Xuemei and Ms. Dai Juzhen from Dongxihu District were arrested while posting information about Falun Gong on the evening of May 10, 2013. Ms. Dai was released from the No. 1 Detention Center on May 22. Ms. Peng was transferred to the Hubei Province Brainwashing Center, in the Banqiao Village of Hongshan District, by personnel from the Dongxihu District 610 Office.

2. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Xia and Mr. Guo Haoran Detained

Ms. Ma Xia and Mr. Guo Haoran from Huanghua City, Hebei Province, were arrested at their workplace in the Hebei Hualin Group on June 9, 2013. They are currently detained at the Huanghua City Detention Center.

3. [Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province] Ms. Pang Shuyue and Her Son Arrested

Ms. Pang Shuyue and her son were arrested at home on the evening of June 10, 2013. Police ransacked their home and confiscated their computer, printer, car, and a large amount of cash. Ms. Pang's son was released that same evening.

4. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Rongrong and Her Mother Arrested

Ms. Zhang Rongrong's mother, Ms. Fang, was recently arrested by two agents while distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs on a street. She was taken to a police station. Later, officer Wang Shubo and others from the local 610 Office ransacked Ms. Fang's home and confiscated her computer, printer and other materials. They also arrested Ms. Zhang, who witnessed the ransacking. Ms. Zhang was sent to a detention center.

5. [Harbin City, HeilongjiangProvince] Ms. Zhu Xiuhua Detained

Ms. Zhu Xiuhua was arrested by police officer Han Liguo on June 8, 2013, while working in the front lobby of the Suihua Train Station. She was sent to Harbin Railroad Police Detention Center.

6. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Xiaodan Held at Brainwashing Center

Ms. Chen Xiaodan from Jianghong Town, Suixi County, was arrested by local police and officer Huang Zuhua from the Zhanjiang City 610 Office at the end of May 2013 while giving out Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs in Lemin Town. She is currently detained at a brainwashing center in Zhanjiang New Village.

7. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Xiao Ganghua Detained

Mr. Xiao Ganghua was reported to the police while painting words “Falun Dafa is good” and related statements in Qiaotou Village, Buyunqiao Town, on the morning of June 5, 2013. He was arrested and detained at the Qidong County Detention Center.

8. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Li Jifeng and Mr. Liang Wanlin, both from Lianhua County, Shulan City, were arrested at their homes by officers from the Lianhua County Police Station on June 9, 2013. The police also ransacked their homes.

Mr. Ren Shaojie and Ms. Zhang Yufen from Shujiao County, Shulan City, were arrested on the evening of June 10 by officers from the Huancheng Police Station while they were distributing information about Falun Gong. The police also ransacked their homes.

9. [Zhangye City, Gansu Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ganzhou District Court held an illegal trial for Mr. Zhang Yutang, Ms. Sun Meiling, Mr. Yang Xuehong, and Ms. Hu Guiqin on May 17, 2013. Mr. Zhang was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison and the rest to 3-4 years on June 8. Ms. Sun was sent to a detention center the same day.

10. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Lixin Arrested

Ms. Wang Lixin from Jinsong Neighborhood, Chaoyang District, was arrested at the end of May 2013. Police officers ransacked her home and confiscated her computer, printer and Falun Gong-related materials. current whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Wuwei City, Gansu Province] Ms. Tang Yumei Arrested

Ms. Tang Yumei from Sibaqiao Village, Fengle Town, Liangzhou District, was reported to the police while speaking to people about Falun Gong at a nearby village. She was arrested by officers from the Fengle Police Station on June 11, 2013. current whereabouts are unknown.
