(Minghui.org) Ms. Qi Yaru, 47, was sentenced to four years in prison in July 2012, because of her belief in Falun Gong. She was sent to the Heilongjiang Women's Prison.
After she was brutally tortured, Ms. Qi Yaru could not eat for 18 days. She was transferred to the Heilongjiang Prison Administration Center Hospital. Now she cannot open her eyes or drink and is very weak. Despite her critical situation, on the afternoon of June 26, 2013, the prison police took her back to the prison. Her family is extremely worried about her.
On the 26 th , Ms. Qi's two sisters and young daughter overcame many difficulties to be able to visit her. She could not open the eyes or speak. Her 11-year-old daughter kept crying, “I cannot go without my mother, and Grandpa (now 95) misses you!” The police allowed her family to help her drink. Her sister gave her a swallow of water. Qi Yaru kept running her hands over her throat so that the water would go down. After a while, however, she threw it up and moaned in pain.
The doctor said that she had not been able to eat anything for many days and now her electrolytes were messed up. She was so weak that he couldn't even examine her. When they gave her an infusion, her arms turned red and swollen, and she complained of heart pain. So they stopped the infusion. For the three days prior they had stopped treating her. Police officer Xu from the prison said, “It's been almost a week. If she doesn't cooperate with the treatment, we will put her back in prison and force feed her.” Ms. Qi's family said to the police, “It's not that she is refusing to eat or drink. It's because she cannot keep anything down.” The doctor said that a test could be started, but the family had to sign a release saying if anything happened, the hospital would not be held responsible. Ms Qi's husband refused to sign it. Her sister also talked to the police, saying, “If you force her to have the test, you will have to take responsibility for any problem.”
In the afternoon, her family visited the prison. After many difficulties, they finally saw Li, the director of the Criminal Department. Li is also in charge of paroles. Li said, “We've already reported her condition to our supervisor. Ms. Qi could be sent the Second Hospital University for examination." They asked her family to sign a form with clauses pertaining to "failure to cooperate." However, Ms. Qi's family are simple peasants and did could not understand the clauses, so they signed it.
On June 27 th when Ms. Qi's family went to the hospital again to see her, they were told that she had been returned the prison around 3 or 4 p.m. on June 26 th . The family was terribly upset, worried about the horrible outcome of force feeding.
We ask everyone inside and outside of China to help Ms. Qi Yaru, whose is in an extremely dangerous situation.
