Simply because she persisted in her belief in Falun Dafa and refused to renounce the practice, Ms. Wang Xiubo was illegally arrested by Xue Kejiu, the deputy director of the Hanjiayuan Police Department, and four or five other police officers on the morning of May 22, 2013. They confiscated a computer and printer from her home, and sent Ms. Wang to the Huma County Detention Center in Heilongjiang Province. By the time the original Chinese article was submitted, Ms. Wang had been on a protest hunger strike for 18 days.

Another practitioner, Ms. Se Guirong, was imprisoned along with Ms. Wang. Ms. Se was arrested by officers from the Hanjiayuan Police Station on the evening of May 21, 2013, when she was handing out truth-clarification materials about Falun Gong. They were both detained at the Huma County Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Xiubo, 55, began practicing Falun Gong in 1996. In July 1999, after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched its persecution of Falun Gong, she remained steadfast in her belief. She has been repeatedly sentenced to forced labor, where she was subjected to brutal forced-feeding and hard labor.

Detained in a Forced Labor Camp for One Year

In 1999, when Ms. Wang returned home after she appealed against the persecution in Beijing, she was arrested and sent to the Huichun City Police Department in Jilin Province. The deputy head of the Police Department Li Zhuzhe grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head into the wall. He kicked her, and attempted to force her to tell him the names of fellow practitioners. When Wang Xiubo refused to give them any information, they deprived her of sleep and forbade her to sit down. She was forced to stand continuously for five days and nights. At that time she was wearing high-heel shoes, but the police forbade her to take them off in order to intensify her pain. They verbally abused her and swore at her. As a result of standing for so long, Ms. Wang's legs and feet swelled terribly and developed sores, and she lost the feeling in her feet. The police sentenced her to one year of forced labor.

Three Years of Detention at the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Wang Xiubo and practitioners Wu Jucai, Lang Huiping and Cui were arrested in 2001 and sent to the Huichun City Detention Center in Jilin Province. The police attempted to force them to tell them the names of other practitioners. Because she refused, Ms. Wang was subjected to punitive forced-feeding and other tortures. On December 25, they were sent to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Wang, Wu Jucai and Lang Huiping were sentenced to three years of forced labor, and Cui was sentenced to one year of detention.

At the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp, every day practitioners were subjected to various forms of torture. The smell of burned skin as a result of practitioners being shocked with electric batons permeated the hallways. Ms. Wang Xiubo was assigned to the Fourth Brigade, where she was forced to do hard labor every day, getting up at 4 a.m. and ending work at 9 p.m., with no days off.

Persecution Suffered at the Beijing Detention Center, the Public Security Hospital and Beijing Forced Labor Dispatching Division

In March 2006, seven to eight police officers from the Beijing Chaoyang District Police Station broke into Ms. Wang's rented room and confiscated her computer, printer, cell phone, Dafa books and other materials. Wang Xiubo was arrested again and sent to the Beijing Detention Center.

At the detention center, every day, five to six criminal detainees were ordered to carry Ms. Wang to the clinic to be force-fed. A large amount of salt was added into the liquid she was given, and every time she was force-fed, her nose and mouth bled. After each forced-feeding Ms. Wang had severe stomach pains, which caused her to roll around in bed in agony.

Because Ms. Wang refused to renounce Falun Gong, the guards forced her to wear a torture device consisting of handcuffs and shackles joined together, so that she couldn't straighten her back or stand upright when she walked. She couldn't take care of herself when she used the restroom, for they even refused to unlock the torture instrument when she used the restroom. After being imprisoned in the Beijing Detention Center for more than 20 days, Ms. Wang was sent to the Beijing Public Security Hospital.

Falun Gong practitioners are subjected to unimaginable torture at the Beijing Police Hospital. They continued to torture Wang Xiubo by force-feeding her, but to intensify her agony, they kept the rubber feeding tube in her stomach so as to "make things easier." Ms. Wang was tied to a bed and couldn't move. She could not sleep either, because once she fell asleep the rubber feeding tube would stick to her esophagus due to the dryness of her throat, causing excruciating pain.

The Hospitalization Division of the Beijing Police Hospital is in the basement, where there is no natural daylight. Ms. Wang was persecuted there for over 20 days, without knowing whether it was day or night.

Over one month later, Ms. Wang was transferred to the Beijing Forced Labor Dispatching Divsion. Because she still refused to renounce Falun Gong and betray fellow practitioners, she was locked up in a small isolation cell. In a wet and cold storage room, four criminal detainees used all kinds of methods to torture her. They tried to force her to squat, but she refused. They then beat her and forbade her to use the restroom for several days. They stuffed her mouth with rags and filthy socks so that she couldn't call out. The head of the division, surnamed Fu, pulled her into the office and viciously beat her. As a result of the beating Ms. Wang was black and blue all over, and a handful of her hair was pulled out. After the beating, Fu threatened her not to tell others of the violence. Ms. Wang was persecuted at the Dispatching Division for over three months.

Persecution in Hohhot Women's Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia

In August 2006, Ms. Wang was sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor. She was transferred from the Beijing Forced Labor Dispatching Division to the Hohhot Women's Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia.

At Hohhot Women's Forced Labor Camp Falun Gong practitioners are subjected to extremely brutal persection, including torture. They are subjected to strict monitoring, forcible "transformation," sleep deprivation, hard labor with extended hours, and a toxic work environment. Practitioners who refused to renounce Dafa are subjected to brainwashing, sleep deprivation, forced standing, and other abuses. They are severely beaten by the criminal detainees as instructed by the guards. It was also common for labor camp officials to arbitrarily extend practitioners' detention terms.

Prior to Ms. Wang's release in 2008, the Hohhot Women's Forced Labor Camp called her family and told them to come to the labor camp to pick her up. But when they arrived at the designated time, the camp officials said that they were too early. Only when director of the Management & Education Division Yuan Mengqin extorted 1,000 yuan from Ms. Wang's younger brother, did they agree to release her three days "ahead of the release date."

At present, Ms. Wang is still detained at the Huma Detention Center. By June 10, when the original Chinese article was submitted to Minghui, she had been on her hunger strike for 18 days.
