Additional Persecution News from China – May 29, 2013 (24 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 14 provinces. In this report, 26 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Lixia Arrested on May 21, 2013

2. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Tangshan Iron and Steel Company Agents Again Harass the Family of Mr. Li Wendong

Yang Ji, Domestic Security Division chief of Tangshan Iron and Steel Company, along with other agents harassed Mr. Li Wendong's wife again on May 22, 2013. They were attempting to find out how her letter was submitted to the Minghui website.

Tangshan Domestic Security Division agents, together with Tangshan Iron and Steel Company police, arrested Mr. Li on February 25, 2012.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Brutality at the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp During 2011 and 2012

Division head Liu Lianying removed Ms. Huang Jingru's clothes, cruelly beat her, and shocked her with electric batons. Ms. Huang was not released until she was in a life-threatening condition.

Liu Lianying and deputy Division head Ms. Ding Caihong shocked Ms. Wang Lanying with electric batons and also forced her to stand for a lengthy period of time, until she fainted.

Liu Lianying handcuffed Ms. Cai Guoxian to a bed, shocked her with electric batons, and force-fed her.

Officer Ding Caihong handcuffed both Ms. Gong Shuying's hands to the upper level of a bunk bed. She was hung there until she fainted.

4. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Update on Arrests in Yilan County on March 29, 2013

Wuguocheng Police Station agents arrested Ms. Du Jing on the evening of March 29, 2013, and confiscated her Falun Gong books. Officials held her at Yazijuan in Harbin City for 15 days and harassed her many times after she returned home.

Zhang Yingze and other Domestic Security Division officers ransacked Ms. Fei Shuqin’s home on March 30 and confiscated two images of Falun Gong's founder. Officials kept her at Harbin No. 4 Detention Center and extorted 8,000 yuan. They later demanded more money, claiming it was to cover medical expenses.

Police searched Mr. Mo Zhikui’s home twice and did not find anything. When his wife went to the detention center to bring him some clothing, guards refused to allow her to see him.

Police arrested Ms. Zhang Huijuan and confiscated the couple’s salary deposit certificate. The account had more than 10,000 yuan, including 8,000 from Ms. Zhang’s elder sister. The loss of this large sum of money took away most of the money Ms. Zhang’s husband and daughter, a college student, depended on to live. Their lives became miserable.

5. [Urumqi, Xinjiang ] Ms. Wang Hui Facing Court Trial

Police arrested Ms. Wang Hui in August 2012 and held her at the Liudaowan Detention Center. She is facing a trial soon.

6. [Jingning County, Gansu Province] Ms. Qin Lanying and Ms. Jin Caixia Arrested

Ms. Qin Lanying, along with Ms. Jin Caixia, clarified the truth and distributed Falun Gong materials on the morning of May 20, 2013. Jingning County police arrested them and their whereabouts are unknown.

Six Jingning County police agents ransacked Ms. Qin’s home on May 26. Falun Gong books and materials were confiscated.

7. [Qianwei County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhong Shiqiong and Ms. Luo Shaoyu Forced to Leave Home, Mr. Sun Zhongliang Arrested

Ms. Zhong Shiqiong, 61, lives in Shibanxi Town, in Qianwei County. Neighborhood party head Yang Renhua harassed her many times, attempting to send her to a brainwashing center. Ms. Zhong was forced to leave home.

Officials also forced Ms. Luo Shaoyu to go to a brainwashing center in Leshan City. Due to the persecution she was also forced to stay away from home.

Shibanxi Town Police Station head, along with others, arrested Bajiaogou Town practitioner Mr. Sun Zhongliang on the morning of May 15, 2013. No more details are known about the arrest.

8. [Lufeng County, Yunnan Province] Ms. Liu Cuixian Facing Trial

Lufeng County Court officials scheduled a meeting on the morning of May 30, 2013, to prosecute practitioners from Kunming City, including Ms. Liu Cuixian, Ms. Peng Xueping, Ms. Ran Xiaoman, and Ms. Liu Xiaoping.

9. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Su Kun and Ms. Zhang Xiaodan Facing Trial for the Third Time

Kunming Intermediate Court tried Mr. Su Kun and Ms. Zhang Xiaodan on the morning of May 24, 2013. Mr. Su’s mother and Ms. Zhang’s father served as agent ad litem on behalf of the couple. Chief judge Yang Jie abruptly announced that the court was adjourned. He intentionally postponed the trial and disregarded the inconvenience and financial loss this caused the family. For the two attorneys to travel back and forth once, the family had to pay 6,000 yuan.

10. [Anning City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Yang Muhua Detained

Ye Lin, Anning City Domestic Security Division head, along with other police agents, arrested Ms. Yang Muhua at home, at noon on May 26, 2013. They confiscated a large box of Falun Gong books and Falun Gong materials. Ms. Yang was sent to Kunming City First Detention Center later that day.

Ms. Yang, 42, was once sentenced to three years of imprisonment for practicing Falun Gong.

11. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Peng Yinxiang Held in a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Peng Yinxiang from Hongshan District was arrested on the afternoon of May 20, 2013. Wuhan City 610 Office agents have been attempting to arrest her since April 19, 2011. She was forced to stay away from home in the past several years. It is said that Ms. Peng is currently detained at the Hubei Province Brainwashing Center.

12. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhou Lin Sent to Shanghai Prison General Hospital

After being arrested on May 8, 2013, Ms. Zhou Lin has been on hunger strike to protest the mistreatment. She was recently sent to the Shanghai Prison General Hospital.

13. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Yuling Detained

Yushu Domestic Security Division agents arrested Ms. Ma Yuling when she went to Wukeshu to clarify the truth on the morning of May 27, 2013. She is currently being held at the Yushu Detention Center.

14. [Xiajin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Shouqiang Arrested

Xiajin County police arrested Mr. Zhang Shouqiang on May 28, 2013.

15. [Beijing] Ms. Xiao Lianying and Five Other Practitioners Arrested

Yungang Police Station agents arrested six practitioners from Changxindian Town on May 28, 2013, including Ms. Xiao Lianying, Ms. Xiao Fenghua, Ms. Mei Guirong, Ms. Li Shurong, Wang, and Xing. Three of them were in their seventies. The police then ransacked their homes.

16. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lu Wei Detained

Lingxi Police Station agents arrested Ms. Lu Wei, Shuanghui Food Company president in Shenyang City, at home on the morning of May 17. They ransacked her home and took her to the police station. The agents first transferred her to Yuhong District Police Department and then to the Shenyang Detention Center.

17. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Police Ransack Mr. Feng Shaocheng’s Home

Xu, the Xinlin Police Station head, along with other agents, arrested Mr. Feng Shaocheng at work on the morning of May 28, 2013. They took him to the Xinlin Police Station and ransacked his home with him. They confiscated one laptop computer, three cell phones, one MP3 player, one MP4 player, and Falun Gong books. Due to strong objection from Mr. Feng’s family, the police left Mr. Feng at home.

18. [Nanzhang County, Hubei Province] Ms. Sun Lijun Detained

Police arrested Ms. Sun Lijun at Xiangyang Railway Station on May 26, 2013 and have since detained her.

19. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zheng Rongji Detained

Police arrested Ms. Zheng Rongji in Tiexi District on the afternoon of May 19, 2013 and took her to the Shenyang Detention Center.

20. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Rendong Arrested

Police arrested Mr. Li Rendong at home on the Afternoon of May 28, 2013.

21. [Linshui County, Sichuan] Police Ransack Mr. Dong Ming’s Home and Store

Lin Jianming, of the Linshui County State Security Division, went to Mr. Dong Ming’s store at noon on May 15, 2013. Mr. Dong was not in the store and police confiscated Falun Gong books, several cell phones, an MP3 player, two computers, and some cash from the store. They then went to his home and confiscated one computer and Falun Gong books.

22. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fan Shen Missing

Ms. Fan Shen, 58 years old, went out several years ago. No one has heard from her since then, and her whereabouts are unknown.

23. [Huaian City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Wang Dongzhu Missing

Ms. Wang Dongzhu left home in August 2011 and her whereabouts are unknown.

24. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zheng Longji Detained

When 59-year-old Tiexi District practitioner Ms. Zheng Longji was distributing DVDs on the afternoon of May 25, 2013, Jihong Police Station agents arrested her and later sent her to the Tiexi Detention Center.
