(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Guang was tried by Liaoning Yingkou Bayuquan Court on January 31, 2013. Mr. Li's lawyer made a strong argument of his innocence that left the judge speechless. The lawyer has also demanded his client's immediate release. However, the authorities have refused the lawyer's request and continue to detain and persecute Mr. Li.
Mr. Li's family went to talk to the responsible personnel directly involved in persecuting him. However, the authorities gave them the run around and told the family, "We will discuss his case by the end of this year." Mr. Li's family then went to talk to presiding judge Luo Yihai. Luo didn't allow any of them to speak and even threatened, "I will punish the lawyer. I only follow the orders of my superiors." Luo rudely shoved the family members out the door while saying, "If you don't leave, I'll call security."
Mr. Li's family talked to the Secretary of Political and Judiciary Committee Jiang Xingyie on February 7, 2013. Jiang said, "I don't have time to meet with you." However, the family replied, "You must release Li Guang immediately." Jiang then called in more than 10 security guards to drag the family out of his office. He also threatened, "If you ever come to the District Government again, I will put you in a detention center too."
