(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Jifeng was illegally arrested by the Junan County 610 Office and Domestic Security Division in February 2013. She was then transferred to a brainwashing center in Zhangqiu, Shandong Province. Her family recently attempted to visit her, but was informed that visitation was out of the question because the detained practitioners were refusing to renounce their belief.
Ms. Yang was arrested on February 22, 2013, when a dozen officers and agents from the Junan County 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, and Gouxiang Police Station, and Yang Jikui from Sanyi Residential Committee broke into her home. They ransacked the premises and confiscated Dafa books, an MP3 player, tape recorder, cell phone and other personal belongings. They took Ms. Yang into custody at Xianggou Police Station.
Her family was told to take her home that afternoon. When her family arrived, however, they were told that Ms. Yang had been taken to the county detention center. The police attempted to extort 1,000 yuan from Ms. Yang's husband by threatening to harass him every day if he refused to pay up.
Soon after Ms Yang's family left the police station, police from the Junan County Domestic Security Division and Xianggou Police Station forced their way into Yang Jifeng's house again and looted money. They lied, saying that Ms. Yang would be released a few days later and tricked her eldest daughter into signing a fabricated statement.
Later, the police from Junan County Detention Center extorted 500 yuan in cash from Ms. Yang's family.
On March 8, Zhao Lantao (from the Junan County 610 Office), Song Guojun (Xianggou Township Party Secretary), and Zhang Dingshang (from Sanyi Residential Committee) broke into Ms. Yang's house and threatened her family. They claimed that Ms. Yang was being sent to the brainwashing center to be “transformed.” Her family went to the county 610 Office and Domestic Security Division that afternoon to ask for her release, but the officers were evasive.
The following day, Zhao Lantao, Song Guojun, and Zhang Dingnong, Wang Zhonghua and Wang Youcui (all three from Sanyi Residential Committee) took Ms. Yang to the Shandong Province Brainwashing Center in Zhangqiu City. On April 5, Ms. Yang's husband, two daughters and relatives traveled eight hours to visit their her. They had not seen for over 40 days. They were turned away, with the staff stating: The brainwashing center had recently arrested many practitioners, and because they were all steadfast in their belief, the head of the brainwashing center had been criticized by Party officials.
Ms. Yang's family proceeded to wait in the rain for five hours, but they did not get to see her in the end.
