(Minghui.org) Several months ago, when a western practitioner wanted to learn Chinese, he recorded fellow practitioners reading Lunyu into his cellphone, and listened to it whenever he needed. I felt this was not appropriate, but I did not point it out to him.
Several months later, I felt more strongly that it was not appropriate, and I had to tell him. The next time I saw him, he told me that he was no longer doing that.
The situation has passed, but I still feel obligated to share with fellow practitioners. We should not record Master's Fa for fellow practitioners, or ourselves. We can only listen to Master's original audio or the translation tape of Master's original tape. Otherwise it is not Fa and does not contain the power of Master and Falun Dafa. In my understanding, it is an obstacle to our improvement, and a gap that can easily be taken advantage of.
“Disciple asks: I would like to record the new scripture that you are giving and listen to it myself, is that okay? Can I turn it into a CD and let other students listen to it?
Teacher: No, you can't. Even just recording it and listening to it by yourself is not allowed. I have talked about this issue many times. Nobody can make his own recording at will, much less distribute it.” (“Teaching the Fa in San Francisco, 2005”)
What I understand is, as long as we have a heart of trusting Master and the Fa, when we read Master's lectures or listen to and watch the videos, many miracles happen. In China, senior fellow practitioners who were illiterate were able to read quickly once they began reading Zhuan Falun.
Do not do anything clearly prohibited by Master, no matter how small or big the matter is. Each and every one of us should safeguard the Fa.
