Additional Persecution News from China – April 27, 2013 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 18 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Sun Hongxia was arrested at home on the morning of April 24, 2013. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Gao Gang was arrested on the morning of April 25, 2013. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Li Yan was arrested on the morning of April 25, 2013. She was detained at the Zijin Police Station and has now been released.

Ms. Wang Xiuyan was arrested at home around midday on April 25, 2013. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Wang Xiuyan's sister and Ms. Heng Yanyun were arrested on the morning of April 25, 2013. Ms. Heng was released the next day.

Mr. Gao Chong was arrested on the morning of April 25, 2013, and taken to the Jinshan Police Station. At around 8 p.m. on the same evening, he was taken to the Dabailou Detention Center. A female practitioner was arrested along with him.

2. [Guang'an City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ju Tianxiu Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Ju Tianxiu from Baishi Town, Guang'an District, was taken to the Wusheng County Brainwashing Center by officers from the Baishi Town Police Station on April 18, 2013.

Prior to Ms. Ju's arrest, other practitioners were also taken to the Wusheng Brainwashing Center by officials from the Guang'an 610 Office and the local Political and Legal Affairs Committee. They included Mr. Shao Changming from Wusheng County, Ms. Zhang Yan from Guang'an City, Ms. Liu Guihua from Linshui County, and Ms. Deng Peilian from the Guang'an District.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wei Fang Held at Brainwashing Center

Ms. Wei Fang from Lushunkou District was arrested on April 12, 2013. She was released the next day, but arrested again by officers from the Minzhuqiao Police Station on April 25. She has been detained at the Qianshanlu Brainwashing Center.

4. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Fengying Imprisoned

Ms. Zhang Fengying, 56, was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2008. She was taken to the Hebei Province Women's Prison.

Prior to being arrested, Ms. Zhang had been forced to leave home in order to avoid being detained. She was homeless for four and a half years.

5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Xiufang Arrested

Ms. Sun Xiufang from Jinzhou District was arrested on the morning of April 26, 2013, while putting up informational materials about Falun Gong on a wall.

6. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yi Fengming Arrested

Mr. Yi Fengming from Jiajiang County was arrested by seven or eight officers on April 24, 2013, while he was taking his grandson to school. His current whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Chen Huilan Arrested

Ms. Chen Huilan was arrested by officers from the Yingze Police Station on the afternoon of April 24, 2013.

8. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ge Changhai Detained

Mr. Ge Changhai from Dengta Village was arrested by Zhang Qicheng and other officers from the Dengta City Domestic Security Division on April 25, 2013. His home was ransacked and his Falun Gong books, cell phone, and other items were confiscated. Mr. Ge is being held at the Wujia Detention Center in Dengta City.

9. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Yuhua and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Yang Yuhua from Wanghua District was arrested at home on April 23, 2013. Another practitioner, surnamed Wang, was arrested along with her.

10. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zheng Chunxiang Arrested

Mr. Zheng Chunxiang from the first mine of Shengli Oil Field was arrested at home by a dozen officers on April 25, 2013. His wife, who is not a practitioner, was arrested along with him.

11. [Shanghai] Ms. Bai Gendi and Ms. Yao Yuhua Facing Trial

Ms. Bai Gendi and Ms. Yao Yuhua were arrested by officers from the Xuhui Police Department on September 10, 2012. They are facing trial on May 3, 2013, at the Xuhui District Court in Shanghai.

12. [Tuquan County, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Liang Lixin Tortured in Detention

Mr. Liang Lixin was arrested on April 22, 2013. He was taken to a local detention center. The guards used all kinds of torture methods in an attempt to force him to renounce his belief.

13. [Dayi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yu Shaoping and Her Husband Detained

Ms. Yu Shaoping is a music teacher at the Beijie Primary School in Dayi County. She was arrested at the school on the morning of April 26, 2013 and taken to a local detention center. When her husband, Mr. Wang Xiaosong, went to the local police department to demand his wife's release, he was detained for 12 days.

14. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Many Practitioners Held in Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp

The following is a partial list of practitioners who are currently detained at the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp: Ms. Wei Yuhui, Ms. Ma Guifang, Ms. Liang Qiumin, Ms. Liu Xiumin, Ms. Qiao Jinlan, Ms. Wang Shulian, Ms. Jin Feng, and Ms. Liu Liping.

15. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Tortured in Heilongjiang Women's Prison

Ms. Zhang Guizhi from Tonghe County, Ms. Qiu Xiuqin from Mudanjiang City, and Ms. Shi Jianhua from Daqing City have been tortured in the Heilongjiang Women's Prison, as perpetrators have attempted to force them to renounce their belief.

Ms. Zhang was put in an iron cage and detained in a small cell.

Ms. Qiu has been tortured for more than six months. She was forced to stand still and sit on a small stool for long periods of time. She was also deprived of sleep for days, which caused her to faint; the guards used toothpicks to prick her hands and eyes when she appeared sleepy. She was then tied with a rope and hung up.

Ms. Shi, 63, was detained in Ward No. 9. She was forced to sit on a small stool of long periods of time, as well as to stand for three consecutive days and nights. The guards spat water on her face when she felt sleepy. She was also monitored by four to five people. They used clothes hangers and chopsticks to beat her hands and legs.
