Additional Persecution News from China – June 7, 2013 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in nine provinces. In the report, six Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cui Shuqin and Ms. Li Weiyun Detained

Ms. Cui Shuqin and Ms. Li Weiyun from Harbin City were arrested on the afternoon of May 31, 2013. They are being held in the Yaziquan Detention Center.

2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qi Chunchao Detained

Ms. Qi Chunchao was arrested on November 2, 2012, by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Shenyang City Police Department Heping District Branch. She has been held in the Heping District Detention Center of Shenyang City.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cao Guohua Arrested

Ms. Cao Guohan was arrested some time around June 2, 2013. No further details are known at this time.

4. [Yuxi City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Liu Qihui Sent to Forced Labor

Ms. Liu Qihui from Yuxi City, in her 40s, was arrested and taken to the Nieer Square Police Station on the morning of May 4, 2013, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs near Nieer Square in the downtown area. She was sent to the Damaitian Forced Labor Camp on May 22.

5. [Jianshui County, Yunnan Province] Ms. Liu Huiping Detained

Ms. Liu Huiping from Jianshui County was arrested by officers from the Jianshui County Police Department on the afternoon of June 1, 2013, for talking to people about Falun Gong near Linancheng. She is being held in the Jianshui County Detention Center.

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Sun Zerong Arrested

Mr. Sun Zerong was arrested on June 5, 2013. No further details of his arrest are known.

7. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Shuhua and Her Sister Ms. Yang Shujun Arrested

Ms. Yang Shuhua and her sister Ms. Yang Shujun, owners of Sister's Hair Salon on Huayou Road, Lijiatuo, Chengdu City, were arrested by officers from the Fuqinglu Police Station and the Chengdu City State Security Bureau on the afternoon of June 5, 2013. Officers from the Renshou County Domestic Security Division in Meishan City and the Zhaojia Police Station in Renshou County took Ms. Yang Shuhua away that afternoon. Ms. Yang Shujun was taken to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center.

8. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Ms. Xia Yanling Arrested

Ms. Xia Yanling, around 50, from Zhangbai Village, Zhongtan Township, Maiji District, Tianshui City, was arrested at home on the afternoon of June 3, 2013, by officers from the Maiji District Domestic Security Division and the Zhongtan Township Police Station. Her home was ransacked.

9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Xiuhui Detained

Ms. Xu Xiuhui from Wukeshu Town, Yushu, Changchun City, was arrested by officers from the Yushu Domestic Security Division on June 6, 2013, for talking about Falun Gong near the Songhua River in Wukeshu Town. She was held for 15 days.

10. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xiang Shuqin Arrested

Ms. Xiang Shuqin from Benxi City, around 63, was arrested at home by four or five officers from the Dongxing Police Station on May 31, 2013. Her whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Chongqing] Ms. Gao Xingfang Arrested Recently

12. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zong Huiqing Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Mr. Zong Huiqing, 70, from Pingdu City Development Zone was arrested in mid-November 2012 by Ma Guochun and other officers from the Taishanlu Police Station in Pingdu City for explaining the facts about Falun Gong. He was held in the Jimo No.3 Detention Center in Qingdao City.

Pingdu Court sentenced Mr. Zong to three years in prison in May. He was sent to Jinan Prison.

13. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Miao Ping and Two Others Detained

Ms. Miaoping and her two friends were arrested when she was visiting them. They were held in the Nanjing Detention Center.

14. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Jiqiu Sent to Brainwashing Center after Prison Term

Ms. Zhang Jiqiu from Qiqihar was held in the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison for over seven years. Her term was supposed to be over on June 1, 2013. However, when her daughter went to the prison to take her home on the appointed day, she was informed that Ms. Zhang had been sent to the Jiansanjiang Brainwashing Center.

15. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Aihua Arrested

Ms. Wang Aihua from Macheng City, Hubei Province, was on her way to Huanggang City on the morning of June 6, 2013, to help her daughter who was preparing for the college entrance examination. She was arrested on a train by railway officers for reading a Falun Gong book.

16. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Guiqin Detained

Ms. Song Guiqin from Zhuqiao Town, Laizhou City, was arrested at Pinglidian Market by officers from the Pinglidian Town Police Station in Laizhou City on May 31, 2013. She was taken to the Laizhou City Detention Center.

17. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhang Manyin Arrested

Mr. Zhang Manyin from Zhongtan in the Maiji District was arrested on the evening of June 4, 2013.

Ms. Huang Hua from Changchun City was secretly sentenced to seven years in prison in May 2013. She is being held in Jilin Province Women's Prison.
