Additional Persecution News from China – April 13, 2013 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties and in 6 provinces. In this report, one practitioner was subjected to mistreatment during detention and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Tianjin] Ms. Wu Chunfeng Persecuted

Ms. Wu Chunfeng and Ms. Zhang Shulan, from Hexi District, Tianjin, were arrested and taken to the Balitai Police Station on the morning of April 17, 2010 when they were clarifying the truth in the North Street of the Hexi Physical Education Institute.

Ms. Zhang felt sick and was released that night. Ms. Wu was transferred to the Wushuidao Detention Center, and later sentenced to prison. She has been incarcerated in Tianjin Women's Prison for three years.

2. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Chai Ruiyan Arrested by Several Plainclothes Police Officers on April 11, 2013

3. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yao Shuqin and Ms. Jiang Tao Arrested

Ms. Yao Shuqin and Ms. Jiang Tao were arrested while they were handing out Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs on the afternoon of April 10, 2013. They are detained in Rongcheng City Detention Center.

4. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Linkai's Wife Arrested

Mr. Wang Linkai's wife, Ms. Yu Na, was arrested on the morning of April 12, 2013 by local police.

5. [Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Li Ming Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Ms. Li Ming, from Guangling District, Yangzhou City, was arrested in November 2012. She was sentenced to four years in prison by Yangzhou City Court in early April, 2013.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaoli Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiaoli was arrested at her rented apartment near Dalian Light Engineering Institute in Paoya Village on the afternoon of April 12, 2013. The police also ransacked her home and confiscated her computer and Falun Gong books.

7. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xie Li and Mr. Xie Wei Arrested

Mr. Xie Li and Mr. Xie Wei were arrested, and had their home ransacked by, officers from the Xingongdi Police Station on March 28, 2013. They are now both detained in the Qiqihar Detention Center.

8. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Shi Qilan and Ms. Cai Cuiyan Recently Arrested

9. [Weining County, Guizhou Province] Mr. Geng Guanghe Arrested

Mr. Geng Guanghe, 55, was arrested at work by police from the Weining County Domestic Security Division on the morning of April 8, 2013. He was sent to the Lannigou Brainwashing Center in Guiyang City.

10. [Beijing] Ms. Li Jie Taken to a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Li Jie, an employee of the Changping District Civil Affairs Department, was arrested on April 8, 2013, and taken to the Changping Brainwashing Center. Ms. Li has been forced to do slave labor every day, and a different person is assigned to monitor her every day.

11. [Qihe County, Shandong Province] Ms. Peng Yuanxiu Arrested

Ms. Peng Yuanxiu, from Dameng Village, Niuqiao Township, Qihe County, was arrested by officers from Yancheng Town Police Department while she was distributing truth clarification materials on April 5, 2013. She was taken to the Qihe County Detention Center. The officers from Yancheng Police Department ransacked Ms. Peng's home and confiscated her Falun Gong lecture books and other materials at noon on April 10.

Ms. Fang Suzhen, from Haosheng Township, Zouping County, was arrested by plainclothes police officers while she was clarifying the truth at the county fair in Miaojia Village. Her whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Yuanqu County, Shanxi Province] Ms. An Xiaorun Arrested

Ms. An Xiaorun was arrested by Yuanqu Police Department on April 11, 2013 and has been detained in the Yuanqu County Detention Center.
