(Minghui.org) Three Falun Gong practitioners from Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province, were arrested by the local police. Their families and fellow practitioners bravely went to the police station and demanded their release. The practitioners were examined in two hospitals and taken to the detention center, which refused to accept them. Fellow practitioners and the detained practitioners' families followed their transfer closely by car. Two of the practitioners were released the next day, the third after five days.
What happened
At about 4 p.m. on May 8, 2013, the three women, all about 60, were arrested.
The three practitioners explained the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution at the entrance of the No. 9 Middle School in the Automobile Factory District as the students were dismissed for the day. The students vied with one another to be the first to withdraw from the Young Pioneers and the Communist Youth League, both organizations affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They chose a good future for themselves.
It was difficult for the practitioners to record their names as well as give out Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs and small Falun Gong amulets, since there were so many students. Some jumped for joy when they got the Shen Yun DVDs. Those who didn't get an amulet grabbed one from the pockets of the practitioners. Over 20 amulets were distributed before they ran out. The practitioners were very touched.
A male student who didn't understand Falun Gong called the police and made a complaint as they were leaving. As the three of them walked to Gate 208 of the First Automobile Works, a police car drove up. Three officers jumped out and grabbed them without any explanation. They grabbed their bags and shoved them into the car. They took them to Anqinglu Police Station in the Automobile Factory District in Changchun and locked them up in separate rooms. Two refused to give their names and simply said that they were Falun Gong practitioners. One practitioner assumed that justice was on their side and encouraged two people to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Ms. Liu was tricked into signing her name against her will.
Local practitioners respond
The local practitioners immediately formed one body and sprang into action. They contacted the families of the three practitioners, went to the police station with them, and demanded that their practitioner relatives be released. Some notified other practitioners to send righteous thoughts near the police station. One practitioner's husband and older sister immediately went to the police station and demanded her release. They were present throughout the whole ordeal. The son of another practitioner tugged on his mother and said, “Let's go home." His mother said, “I want to go home. This isn't where I should be.” Ms. Liu's daughter stayed there to prevent the officers from abusing her mother. A practitioner yelled, “Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is good!” when the police took the three of them out of the station. She also pointed at Wang Yaofeng and yelled to her older sister, “See what condition I'm in. Just in case the officers abuse me, make sure that they pay for it."
More than a hundred practitioners sent righteous thoughts near the police station. Three cars containing the detained practitioners' families and fellow practitioners followed the vehicles that transported the three practitioners to the hospitals where they were examined. They took them to two hospitals, one after the other.
Practitioners released
The officers tried to admit them to Weizigou Detention Center, but the center refused to accept them after examining their test results. The officers felt they had no alternative but to give up. After seeing all of the other practitioners and the family members outside the jail, they said, “You might as well leave.” Two of the practitioners were released the next day at 3 a.m. Unfortunately, Ms. Liu's family members were not present and they kept her for five days.
