Additional Persecution News from China – May 13, 2011 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 12 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 21 practitioners were illegally arrested.

2. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Li Ping and Ms. Meng Guilan Detained

Police arrested practitioners Ms. Li Ping and Ms. Meng Guilan from Hongshan District when they distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs on May 11, 2013. They are currently detained at the Sanzhongjie Police Station.

3. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Deng Aihua Facing Detention

When practitioner Ms. Deng Aihua from Gezhouba distributed truth-clarification materials on May 11, 2013, officers from Yaowan Town Police Station arrested her, attempting to detain her for 15 days.

4. [Guangling County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Wang Hongmei and Ms. Sun Yumei Arrested

When practitioners Ms. Wang Hongmei and Ms. Sun Yumei from Douquan Town told people about Falun Gong at 2 p.m. on January 24, 2013, Zhang Yahong and other officers from Douquan Police Station arrested them. Police then ransacked their homes, confiscating 14 Falun Gong books and two speakers. Ms. Wang was detained for 10 days, but Ms. Sun was not detained because of her elderly age (80 years old).

5. [Chongqing] Looking for Ms. Zhang Chenying

Ms. Zheng Chenying, about 40 years old, was released from the Chongqing Women's Forced Labor Camp in summer 2011. It was said that she was arrested again and her current whereabouts are unknown.

When Ms. Fang Jinxiang clarified the truth to people on the morning of May 12, Yutaiwangmiao Town Police officers arrested her.

7. [Gujiao City, Shanxi Province] Four Practitioners Facing Trial

Gujiao City Court planned a trial at Taiyuan Detention Center on May 14. The trial is being held for Ms. Jiang Li, Ms. Zhang Bianying, Ms. Gong Guoqing, and Ms. Li Zhong'e.

8. [Jilin Province] Jilin Province Prison Officials Attempt to Detain Ms. Song Yanqun

After going on a hunger strike, Ms. Song Yanqun was released on December 16, 2012. Jilin Province Women's Prison officials attempt to imprison her again.

9. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] More than 10 Practitioners Arrested

When practitioners from Jianping County put up Falun Gong banners on the morning of May 12, 2013, seven practitioners were arrested, including Ms. Yin Xiuzhi, Ms. Qi Xiuying, Ms. Xue Dong, Ms. Yu Shuqin, Ms. Xie Li, Ms. Yuan Fenglan, and Ms. Guo Shuzhi. Six more practitioners were arrested later, including Ms. Huan Jingyun, Ms. Liu Chaoqun, and practitioners with the last names of Cao and Zhao. Ms. Yuan and Ms. Guo returned home and others are being held at the Jinping County Detention Center.

10. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Xiuxia Detained

Ms. Li Xiuxia is being held in the Tangshan Detention Center.

11. [Tianjin] Ms. Shen Huafeng's Daughter Arrested

Several plainclothes police waited at the door of Ms. Shen Huafeng's home for a few days and bugged her daughter's cell phone. Her daughter was recently arrested.

Qi Bo, a 610 Office agent from Hexi District Domestic Security Division, and local police arrested Ms. Shen on December 21, 2010. Officials sentenced her to four years of imprisonment and detained her at the Tianjin Women’s Prison. They also threatened her daughter many times for trying to rescue her.

12. [Linyi County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Wang Simin Arrested Last Year and Currently Still in Detention

Officials arrested practitioner Ms. Wang Simin from Beima Village last year and have detained her since then. She is facing trial on May 3.

14. [Tianjin] Gu Yuzhi Detained

Police arrested two practitioners from Hebei District on May 10, including Ms. Gu Yuzhi (about 56 years old) and Ms. Dong Shuqin (about 73 years old). Ms. Dong returned home on May 12, and Ms. Gu was sent to the Caozhuangzi Detention Center.
