Additional Persecution News from China – March 21, 2013 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 14 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 28 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Shi Sumei Detained

Ms. Shi Sumei from Zhangzhou City was arrested at home on January 12, 2013. She is being held at the Zhangzhou No. 2 Detention Center. Her computer, printer and other items were confiscated. Her husband was harassed many times by the local police and officers from the 610 Office.

2. [Aksu City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Wang Yanru Sent to Prison

Ms. Wang Yanru, 45, was arrested on March 8, 2013, while speaking to people about Falun Gong. She was subsequently sentenced to five years in prison and is being held in the Xinshi Prison in Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

3. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Qingyuan Arrested

Ms. Zhang Qingyuan from Shapingba District was arrested by officers from the Xiaolongkan Police Station on March 19, 2013 while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in the Xiaolongkan area of Shapingba District. She has since been released.

4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Xiaolan's Home Ransacked

Ms. Li Xiaolan's home was ransacked by officers from the Luyangzhen Police Station in Beizhen City on March 18, 2013. Her computer, printer, Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs, Falun Gong books and other items were confiscated. She has been forced to leave home to avoid being arrested.

5. [Zhugqu County, Gansu Province] Five Practitioners Sent to Prison

Five practitioners were sentenced to prison by Min County Court on January 4, 2013.

Mr. Li Wenbin was sentenced to six years and is being held in the Tianshui Prison in Gansu Province.

Mr. Shenxie Hedai and Mr. Yang Jiuhe were sentenced to four years and are also being held in the Tianshui Prison.

Ms. Cai Shuilan and Ms. Jiang Miaoquan were sentenced to three years and are being held in the Gansu Province Women's Prison.

6. [Shandong Province] Practitioners Tortured at Shandong No.2 Forced Labor Camp

Many practitioners have been abused at the Shandong No.2 Forced Labor Camp because they have refused to give up their faith.

Mr. Wang Shenghua and Mr. Yu Yingzuo, detained in Ward No. 8, have been tortured to the point of one leg being disabled.

Mr. Liu Shengzhu and Mr. Yan Shubin were forced to sit on a board facing the wall for long periods of time each day. Mr. Li Jian was hung up by handcuffs for a long period of time.

Mr. Yan Fulu was monitored 24 hours a day by criminal inmates.

All of these practitioners were beaten by the guards.

7. [Hui County, Henan Province] Ms. Hao Jinye Detained

Ms. Hao Jinye from Hui County was arrested on the afternoon of March 13, 2013. She is being held at the Weihui Detention Center.

8. [Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Xuhui and Ms. Sun Guirong Arrested

Mr. Wang Xuhui and his wife, Ms. Sun Guirong, were arrested by officers from the Tonghe No. 3 Police Station on March 15, 2013. Their home was ransacked. They were released after police extorted 5,000 yuan from them.

9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Zhirong Detained

Mr. Wang Zhirong was arrested by officers from the Shisiwei Road Police Station in Heping District while speaking to people about Falun Gong on March 6, 2013. His home was ransacked and his Falun Gong books, MP3 player and other items confiscated. He was detained for three days before being released on the account of being very ill. His family was forced to pay 2,000 yuan prior to his release. Mr. Wang is now monitored by the local police.

10. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Dianqing and Mr. Wang Chengguo Arrested

Mr. Zhang Dianqing and Mr. Wang Chengguo were followed by police and arrested while giving out informational materials about Falun Gong to people in Dawu Village, Liusi Town, Gaotang County, on the evening of March 17, 2013. Mr. Wang was taken to the Gaotang Detention Center on March 18.

11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Guo Jinlan and Her Daughter Detained

Ms. Guo Jinlan and her daughter Ms. Ma Jun were arrested by officers from the Nanguan Police Department while they distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs on March 6, 2013. They have been taken to the Weizigou Detention Center for a 15-day term.

12. [Tianjin] Ms. Qin Fengmei Detained

Ms. Qin Fengmei was arrested by officers from the Xianshuigu Town Police Station in Jinnan District on March 17, 2013, while speaking to people about Falun Gong. She is being held at the Zhaijiadian Detention Center in Jinnan.

13. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Zheng Guizhi Sent to Prison

Ms. Zheng Guizhi from Balinzuoqi, Chifeng City, was arrested by officers Tian Licheng and Li Hongzhu from the Balinzuoqi Domestic Security Division on June 3, 2012. She was sentenced to three years in prison and taken to Hohhot Women's Prison on March 14, 2013.

14. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

More than a dozen officers from the Wenjiang District Police Department, Domestic Security Division and Liucheng Police Station burst into Ms. Li Qin's recycle collection site on the afternoon of March 5, 2013. They confiscated 30,000 yuan in cash and Falun Gong informational materials.

The police arrested Ms. Li Qin, Ms. Feng Guangyu, Ms. Xia Huiru, Ms. Yang Xiuyun, and Ms. Que Guohua at the site. Ms. Li was held at the Wenjiang Detention Center for 15 days and then transferred to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center on the morning of March 20. The rest of the practitioners were released.

15. [Pingyao County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Guo Zhilan Arrested

Ms. Guo Zhilan was arrested by officers from Pingyao County Domestic Security Division on the evening of March 3, 2013 while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong.

16. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jing Guixiang and Ms. Guo Arrested

Ms. Jing Guixiang and Ms. Guo were arrested by officers from the Fuhai Town Police Station in

Fuyu County on March 19, 2013.

17. [Chenxi County, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Guiying and Ms. Deng Yue'e Arrested

Ms. Li Guiying and Ms. Deng Yue'e were arrested by officials from Tanjiachang Town on March 18, 2013, while they spoke to people about Falun Gong. They are being held at the Chenxi Police Department.

Ms. Zhang Zhengbi and Ms. Chen Rong were arrested by officers from the Guanyin Police Station on March 17, 2013. They were interrogated at the local police station for two days. Their homes were ransacked. They are being held at the Yongxing Detention Center in Suining City.

Ms. Wang Guizhi, in her 60s, was recently arrested.

20. [Tianjin] Mr. Ma Jian Arrested

Mr. Ma Jian from Hebei District was arrested on March 19, 2013. His rental home was ransacked.
