Disabled Mr. Wang Xingming Tortured in Labor Camp for Talking About Falun Gong

(Minghui.org) When Mr. Wang Xingming purchased a book for 12 yuan in 2004, he couldn't possibly have imagined that it would change his life. Mr. Wang was over 50 years old at the time and was left disabled after contracting polio. After reading that most precious book, Zhuan Falun, and following the principles set forth in it, the acute pain from rheumatoid arthritis that had plagued him for over a decade miraculously disappeared and he could walk effortlessly again.

However, Mr. Wang was persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for his belief, and has been arrested and tortured several times because he persisted in telling people how he had benefited from practicing Dafa.

Obtaining Falun Dafa after many years of living aimlessly

Mr. Wang, 68, lives in Wangjiazhuang Village, Liancheng Township, Mengyin County, Shandong Province. As a child he contracted polio and walked with a limp. Although he was physically handicapped, he was able to run a medical practice, and managed to lead a comfortable life. However, he did not marry.

Mr. Wang used to live with an elder brother in Dongxiejiang Village in Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, where he farmed and owned a business. Around 1993, he began suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. His joints became swollen and his legs hurt so much that he was in excruciating pain when he tried to move. His condition worsened and by 1997, he needed a crutch to help him walk. In 1994, he enrolled in a course in Dongxiejiang village run by the Zhengzhou Chinese Medical Institute.

In 2004, Mr. Wang read brochures about Falun Gong and decided to start the practice. Not long after, his physical condition improved tremendously and the acute pain from the rheumatoid arthritis had disappeared. He could now walk long distances and sometimes could even walk without using a crutch. He often introduced his patients to Falun Gong, and told them of the benefits that he had gained from the practice. When medication could not treat his patients' illnesses, he suggested that they try practicing Falun Gong to cure the illness as well as cut down on medical expenses. He was held in high regard by local villagers.

After practicing Falun Gong, Mr. Wang believed that what he went through in the early years of his life was a prerequisite for obtaining the Fa. He said emotionally, “Even if you give me mountains of gold and silver, I don't want them. I only want this Great Law.”

Arrested and tortured for talking to people about Falun Gong

At around 10:30 p.m. on February 28, 2008, about half a dozen people in two police cars from Wennan Town 610 Office in Xintai City, Shandong Province and the local police station went to arrest Mr. Wang. He had been reported to the local authorities when he was seen talking to people about Falun Gong and the persecution. He shouted loudly, “Falun Dafa is good” and tried to resist the unlawful arrest.

Mr. Wang was taken to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp, where Li Gongming, political head of the 7^th division, took away his crutch, leaving him unable to walk by himself. Li Gongming put Mr. Wang in solitary confinement and made him sit on a small stool for long periods of time. He had to sit with both hands placed on his knees, with his back upright and he was not allowed to move at all. Three or four people surrounded him while he sat on the stool and slandered Falun Dafa and its Master. He was forced to endure this form of torture for nearly two months. Mr. Wang was traumatized by such intense mental torture, and said that while he sat there all he thought about was how to commit suicide to end his suffering.

Guards at the camp deprived Mr. Wang of sleep, and after six or seven days without sleep, he still refused to give up his belief. Li Gongming then slapped him on the forehead with such force that his hands were shaking. Then he left.

Mr. Wang was also made to stand for long periods of time, even though he was disabled. When he became exhausted from the abuse, he thought: “How can I let these people control me?” He then began to resist the persecution. When the guards ordered him to stand, he would ignore them. Li Gongming told him: “If you pretend to give up Falun Gong, you can go home.” Mr. Wang answered, “If I lied and went along with your wishes, that would be the worst kind of deceit.” Mr. Wang remained steadfast in his belief, and was soon released from solitary confinement.

One day, Li Gongming threatened to handcuff Mr. Wang and demanded to know why he wanted to practice Falun Gong. Mr. Wang replied, “Before I started the practice, I could not look after myself. After I started I became healthy and could look after myself.” Li Gongming did not say a word and left.

Mr. Wang was transferred to the No. 10 team in the 7^th division. When he was there an inmate saw him reading a handwritten copy of the book of poems, Hong Yin, and reported him to the guards. Li Gongming ordered the guards to handcuff one of Mr. Wang's hands to a metal pole high up on the wall. His feet were just barely touching the ground. He was hung like that for a whole day. At night, he was made to sit on the ground, but with one hand still cuffed to the heating pipe.

Around February 20, 2009, Mr. Wang was released from the labor camp and went back to Wennan Town. He continued his medical practice, and became less attached to monetary gain and personal fame, and charged his patients a minimal fee. Last year, police confiscated 1,300 yuan from him, which was all he had. They still have not returned the money to him.

Many people came to visit Mr. Wang and asked if he was still practicing Falun Gong. He expressed his firm belief and told them about the persecution he was put through. He also said that in the future he intends to press charges against those who persecuted him.

Arrested and detained again

Due to Mr. Wang's unwavering belief in Falun Gong, officers from Wennan Town 610 Office in Xintai City Shandong Province and the local police station sent two police vehicles containing seven to eight people to arrest him on April 22, 2009, at around 10 a.m. He was detained at Xintai City Detention Center, where he was tortured. He was later released.

On November 20, 2012, Kong Linggong, head of Liancheng Town 610 Office in Mengyin County, Shandong Province, and officers from Liancheng Police Station broke into Mr. Wang's house in Xiaowangzhuang village and ransacked the place. They took many of his personal belongings.
