Additional Persecution News from China – March 7, 2013 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties and in 12 provinces. In this report, 9 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 21 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qi Yaru and Others Persecuted in Prison

Twenty practitioners from the 10 ^th Ward of Heilongjiang Women's Prison were brutally beaten by male guards from the anti-riot squad on February 28, 2013. They were then put in a cage after the beatings. Ms. Qi Yaru from Harbin City has the symptoms of a serious illness and has difficulty walking. She has been transferred to the 7 ^th Ward.

2. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Liangyuan and His Wife Ms. Wang Guirong Arrested

Mr. Wang Liangyuan, in his 60s, and his wife Ms. Wang Guirong, both from the Shengli Oil Production Plant, Shengli Oil Field in Dongying City, Shandong Province, were arrested on the morning of March 5, 2013 and their home was ransacked.

3. [Shanghai] Mr. Liu Dongbo Arrested

Mr. Liu Dongbo was arrested in Shanghai on November 2012. He is being held in the Jinshan District Detention Center in Shanghai.

4. [Wanquan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Xinlan and Ms. Hou Tao Arrested

Ms. Li Xinlan and Ms. Hou Tao both from the North Xintun Village, Wanquan County, Zhangjiakou City were arrested on February 27, 2013. They have been taken to the Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou City.

5. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Meng Qingjie Illegally Sentenced to Six Years in Prison

Ms. Meng Qingjie from the Jinpeng Park area, Gaoguantai District in Shenyang City was sentenced to six years in prison by officials from the Shenhe District Court on December 25, 2012.

6. [Beijing] Additional Information on the Arrest of Ms. Cui Xuelei

Ms. Cui Xuelei from Beijing was arrested in the Chaoyang District in Beijing in late October, 2012. She was sentenced to two and a half years and is being held at the Beijing Xin'an Forced Labor Camp.

7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Meng Hong Arrested

Ms. Meng Hong from Xuefu Road, Nangang District in Harbin City was arrested at her home by officials from the local court on March 7, 2013.

8. [Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Additional Information on the Arrest of Ms. Chen Fumei

Ms. Chen Fumei from Mayu Town in Rui'an City was arrested on the morning of February 28, 2013 while clarifying the truth in Mayu. She is being held at the Longwan District Police Station in Wenzhou City.

9. [Chongqing] Mr. Pu Zhangzhi Detained at Yongchuan Prison

10. [Taia'n City, Shandong Province] Additional Information on the Arrest of Ms. Dong Zhihua

Ms. Dong Zhihua, in her 60s, from Dazhuma Village, Xintai City was arrested by officers from the Beishi Police Station while clarifying the truth to people on Beishi Market day on February 28, 2013. The location of her detention is unknown.

11. [Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Wei Changfeng Persecuted in Prison for Many Years

Mr. Wei Changfeng from the Mo Banner of Hulunbeir City was sentenced to 13 years in prison in 2003 because he intercepted the local television station's broadcast to broadcast the Falun Gong video program, “Coming for you” for 40 minutes in Nehe City. He has been detained at Bei'an City Prison in Heilongjiang Province, where he continues to be tortured because he refuses to renounce his belief.

12. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Shi Xiqin Arrested

Ms. Shi Xiqin from Xiaojin Town, Xifeng District, Qingyang City was arrested by officer Gao Xiaofei from the Xiaojin Police Station. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Shi managed to flee, but her current whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Yingzi and Ms. Cui Mingshu Arrested

Ms. Li Yingzi and Ms. Cui Mingshu from Tumen City, Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin Province were arrested at Tumen Square on the afternoon of March 5, 2013 while they were talking to people about Falun Gong. They were taken to the Tumen City Domestic Security Division and their homes were ransacked.

14. [Fengning County, Hebei Province] Additional Information on the Arrest of Ms. Liu Guilan

Ms. Liu Guilan was arrested by a security guard from Nankou Town, Changping District in Beijing on December 21, 2012. She was taken to the Tiantanghe Women's Forced Labor Camp in Daxing District, Beijing, on February 26, 2013.

15. [Fuping County, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Zhang Junquan Subjected to Secret Trial

Mr. Zhang Junquan from Fuping County, Weinan City was arrested by officers from the Fuping Domestic Security Division on October 18, 2012. Recently, he was secretly put on trial at the Fuping County Court. His family was not informed.

Mr. Zhang had previously been sentenced to 7 years in prison.

16. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Dawu Arrested

Mr. Dawu, in his 40s, was arrested on March 5, 2013.

17. [Yuanqu County, Shanxi Province] Ms. An Xiaorun and Ms. Wei Yindi Arrested

Ms. An Xiaorun and Ms. Wei Yindi from Yuanqu County, Yuncheng City were seized by villagers while distributing truth-clarification materials in Changzhi Village, and then taken to the Changzhi Police Station on March 1, 2013. They were transferred to the local detention center and their homes were ransacked. Both of them are on hunger strike to protest the illegal arrest.

18. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Jin Changlin Arrested

Mr. Jin Changlin from the Huguan New District in Suzhou City was arrested at Tong'an Town on the morning of March 6, 2013 while clarifying the facts to local residents. He was taken to the Tong'an Police Station.

19. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Qin and Seven Other Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Wenjiang District Police Department, Domestic Security Division and the Liucheng Police Station burst into Ms. Li Qin's recycling collection site on the afternoon of March 5, 2013. They confiscated 30,000 yuan in cash and all her truth-clarification materials. Seven practitioners including Ms. Li Qin, Mr. Feng Guangyu, Ms. Xia Huiru, Ms. Yang Xiuyun, and Mr. Que Guohua were arrested and detained at the Liucheng Police Station. Six practitioners were released the same evening. Ms. Li Qin was held for 15 days at the Wenjiang District Detention Center.

20. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] More Information on the Arrest of Ms. Wang Tan

Ms. Wang Tan from the Zhuanghe area of Dalian City was arrested and taken to the Xinhua Police Station by Gu Ming, director of the Xinhua Police Station and other officers on March 1, 2012 while clarifying the truth. She was beaten and forced to have her photo taken at the police station.

Ms. Wang was transferred to the Yaojia Detention Center the same evening and was detained there for a month. Later she was sentenced to one year of forced labor and was taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. She is now very feeble because of severe persecution there. Ms. Wang was released on February 23, 2013.
