(Minghui.org) May 13, 2013, marks the 14th anniversary of World Falun Dafa Day and the 21st anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa. On this occasion, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke of the City of Evansville, Indiana, proclaimed May 13, 2013 as Falun Dafa Day in the City of Evansville.

Whereas , Falun Dafa is an ancient Chinese exercise to improve the body, mind, and spirit consisting of exercise, meditation and teachings that are rooted in the Chinese culture; and
Whereas , Falun Dafa is a traditional self-cultivation practice to improve mind and body based on the principles of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance; and
Whereas , after its public introduction on May 13, 1992, Falun Dafa has improved the quality of life for more than 100 million people in more than 80 countries; and
Whereas , all Falun Dafa activities, including teaching and practice, are offered to the public free of charge by volunteers; and
Whereas , In July 1999, the Chinese Communist government banned Falun Gong which led to brutal persecution where thousands have died and millions have been persecuted and lost their basic human rights; and
Whereas , despite the huge adversity, worldwide Falun Gong Practitioners have been amazingly persistent in their peaceful effort to defend human dignity and to end the injustice; then
Therefore , be it resolved that, I, Lloyd Winnecke, Mayor of the City of Evansville, do hereby proclaim May 13, 2013, as “ Falun Dafa Day” in the City of Evansville, Indiana.
