Additional Persecution News from China – March 14, 2013 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties and in 10 provinces. In this report, 14 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 7 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Hongjin Arrested and Facing Illegal Sentence

Mr. Zhang Hongjin from Songgezhuang Village, Jiangtuan Town in Laiyang City was arrested by officers from Tuanwang Town Police Station and Laiyang 610 Office on the afternoon of January 23, 2013 while distributing truth-clarification materials. His home was also ransacked. His parents are over 70 years old and are blind. They depend on him to look after them. Officials from the Laiyang 610 Office are planning to sentence him.

Ms. Tian Yan'e from Bailong Village, Mancheng County was arrested by officers from Bailong Town Police Station on the afternoon of March 12, 2013. She was taken to Bailong Town Police Station.

3. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Ye Arrested

Ms. Wang Ye from Minhang District in Shanghai was arrested on the afternoon of March 12, 2013 by officers from Changning District Police Department. Her home was ransacked. She was transferred from Xianxia Road Police Station to Changning District Detention Center on the morning of March 13. She has previously been sentenced to three years in prison.

4. [Lulong County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhu Zhiyong Detained at Lulong County Detention Center

5. [Chongqing] Mr. Pu Zhangzhi Sentenced to Three and a Half Years in Prison

Mr. Pu Zhangzhi from Yubei District in Chongqing was sentenced to four years in prison in 2001 and was incarcerated in Yongchuan Prison because he distributed materials about Falun Gong.

Mr. Pu was arrested at his home again on November 21, 2010 by officers from the local domestic security division. His family went to the local detention center to find him, but was told he was not there. Later his family was informed that he had been sentenced to three and a half years in prison, but the guards claimed they didn't know where he had been taken.

6. [Lishui City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Zhou Aizhen and Four Other Practitioners Put on Trial on March 19, 2013

7. [Qishan County, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Zhao Yonglin Arrested and Taken to Qishan County Detention Center

Mr. Zhao Yonglin from Qishan County in Baoji City was arrested by officers from the Qishan Police Department and Gujun Town Police Station on the afternoon of March 11, 2013 when speaking to people about Falun Gong. He was taken to Qishan Detention Center. More than 10 police officers ransacked his home and his Dafa books were confiscated. His family is not allowed to see him.

8. [Changli County, Hebei Province] Ms. Lang Shuying Taken to Changli County Detention Center

Ms. Lang Shuying has been taken to Changli County Detention Center by officers from Changli County Police Department.

9. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Zhao Mingli, Ms. Yuan Xueli and Mr. Liu Jun Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

Ms. Zhao Mingli, Ms. Yuan Xueli and Mr. Liu Jun from Guiyang City were arrested on April 12, 2012. They were sentenced to 10 years in prison in late September, 2012. They refused to accept the verdict and made an appeal to the Guiyang Intermediate Court, but the verdict remained the same. They were taken to Yang'ai Prison in Guizhou City on March 13, 2013.

10. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Lai Youfu Arrested

Mr. Lai Youfu was arrested on March 12, 2013 while putting up truth-clarification materials.

11. [Wuzhong City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Wang Lifang Repeatedly Harassed

Ms. Wang Lifang from the No.1 Team in Dongfanghong Village, Shaogang Town in Qingtongxia City was harassed by officers from the Wuzhong City 610 Office on March 23, 2010.

On May 24, 2010, the officials from Wuzhong City 610 Office used the excuse of making sure she wasn't going to Beijing to appeal to harass her again.

On January 1, 2011, officer Li Zhenjiang from Qingtongxia Domestic Security Division went to her home to harass her.

12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Gao Weixi Arrested Again

Mr. Gao Weixi was taken to Sipingshiling Prison again.

13. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhan Yanyan Arrested

Ms. Zhan Yanyan from Pingdu City was arrested by officers from the Taishan Police Station when she was on her way home. She is being held at the Fantao Brainwashing Center.

14. [Chongqing] More Information on the Arrests of Mr. Zhang Zhengquan and Mr. Deng Fushou

Mr. Zhang Zhengquan is being held at the 10 ^th Ward of Yongchuan Prison in Chongqing. Mr. Deng Fushou died as a result of persecution on January 30, 2012.
