(Minghui.org) Mayor Phil Dyer of the City of Plano, Texas, proclaimed Monday, May 13, 2013 as “Falun Dafa Day” in Plano.

“Falun Dafa Day” Honoring “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance”
Whereas , Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a peaceful self-improvement practice rooted in ancient Chinese culture that centers around the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance; and
Whereas , Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, has helped millions across the world to improve their health and moral standards, as well as deepen their understanding of life, humanity and universe, through the practice of Falun Dafa; and
Whereas , Falun Dafa consists of five gentle exercises including meditation and was first introduced to the public in 1992 in China followed by the introduction to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 1996; and
Whereas , Falun Dafa emphasizes practitioners’ determination and courage to stand up for Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance and calls attention to the value of life and the preciousness of human dignity; and
Whereas , Falun Dafa transcends cultural and racial boundaries, and has touched the lives of people of different ages, professions and racial backgrounds in over 80 countries; and
Whereas , the Dallas-Fort Worth participants are gathered at the Plano Russell Creek Park to celebrate the founding of Falun Dafa and to celebrate its positive effects that relieve stress and improve their mental and physical health; and
Now, Therefore , I, Phil Dyer, Mayor of the City of Plano, Texas, do hereby proclaim Monday, May 13, 2013 as “Falun Dafa Day” in Plano. I do thereby encourage all citizens to join me and the Plano City Council in the celebration being held in our city on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
