Additional Persecution News from China – May 1, 2013 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces. In this report, 12 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Hu Baoyu Detained

When practitioner Ms. Hu Baoyu from Xixiao District went out to distribute informational materials about Falun Gong on the evening of April 26, 2013, police arrested her and took her to the Lianyungang Detention Center. Her family went to the detention center on April 28 to visit her but officials denied her right to have visitors.

2. [Shanghai] Ms. Chen Yindi Detained at Brainwashing Center

Ms. Chen Yindi has been detained at the Fengxian Brainwashing Center for two weeks. Her husband is 78 years old.

3. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Han Haiqin Arrested

When Ms. Han Haiqin, former Rizhao City Textile Company Party head, told others about Falun Gong on the evening of April 16 (or 17), police officers arrested her.

4. [Funing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Haixia Detained

Ms. Chen Haixia and another practitioner from Pan Guanying Village went to Yan'goutun Village to clarify the truth on the morning of April 26, 2013. One village resident reported them to the police and police officers arrested them. Ms. Chen was detained at the Fu'ning County Detention Center and another practitioner escaped. When Ms. Chen's family went to visit her at the detention center, guards extorted 350 yuan from them.

5. [Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Chang Haihua and Ms. Wang Zhonghua Arrested

When 58-year-old Ms. Chang Haihua and 49-year-old Ms. Wang Zhonghua distributed informational materials at Jian'an Town in Wutai County on the evening of April 27, 2013, police arrested them.

6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Lijun Detained

Ms. Wu Lijun was recently arrested in Hulan District and she is being held at Harbin No.2 Detention Center.

7. [Chongqing] Mistreatment of Ms. Zuo Ruhui

Gelan Police Station officers arrested practitioner Ms. Zuo Ruhui from Changshou District on April 9. She was detained for 15 days and returned home on April 24, 2013. During the time she was detained and away from home, agents from Gelan Police Station and Shuanglong Police Station broke the lock on her house and ransacked it. When Ms. Zuo went to the Gelan Police Station to request the return of her cell phone and other personal belongings, she was denied.

8. [Tianjin] Ms. Yue Huiting Arrested

Hangu police arrested Ms. Yue Huiting on April 27, 2013.

9. [Dachang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Fengyu Arrested

Ms. Wang Fengyu was arrested by police officers on April 23, 2013.

10. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Yuxiang Arrested

Practitioner Mr. Wang Yuxiang from Fengtai District was arrested on March 6, 2013.

11. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yu Lianxing Arrested

Qiandian Police Station officers arrested Mr. Yu Lianxing on the afternoon of April 30, 2013.

12. [Chishui City, Guizhou Province] Many Practitioners Harassed

Li Zhongming, a Chishui City Domestic Security Division agent, recently led other agents to harass many practitioners and confiscate their personal belongings. The practitioners included Mr. Wen Tao, Mr. Chen Guilu, Mr. Wang Chaogui, Mr. Li Zhengbing, Ms. Li Wenyu, Ms. Zhou Bangqin, Ms. Li Zerong, Ms. Li Xianying, and Ms. Qin Shufen.

When the agents went to the home of Mr. Chen Guilu, a practitioner in his 70s, they not only took all his study materials, but also beat him hard down on the floor. Mr. Chen was severely injured. They had already detained his wife 15 days before.
