Greetings from the Honorable Tim Uppal, Minister of State (Democratic Reform)

I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all those celebrating the 21st Anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public. I would like to thank the organizers for their steadfast commitment to building a strong, united and pluralistic Canada.

As Canadians, we are lucky to have the freedom to celebrate and to participate in events that recognize the vibrant history of Canada’s Falun Dafa practitioners, who promote tolerance and harmony and who have made – and continue to make – positive contributions to their communities.

As Prime Minister Harper noted, “Canada has been immeasurably enriched by such a broad array of ethno-cultural traditions. Each community is part of the cultural diversity that is one of Canada’s greatest strengths in this globalized world.” We can be proud to live in a country that values diversity and champions the values of democracy, freedom, human rights and the rule of law.

As Minister of State for Democratic Reform and Member of Parliament for Edmonton-Sherwood Park, I would like to thank the Falun Dafa Association of Edmonton for sharing your practices and traditions with the community and congratulate you on your 21st Anniversary.

Sincerely,

Honorable Tim Uppal, P.C., M.P
