(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gao Dong of Panjin City, Liaoning Province has been missing since 2011 when he traveled to Haicheng City, his hometown.

After he left for his hometown, Panjin City 610 Office agents searched his rental home and took his landlord in for questioning. A 610 Office official told people that they would not hear anything from Gao Dong for the next ten years.

Word spread that Mr. Gao had been sent to Benxi City Forced Labor Camp, while another source said that he was held in Anshan City Detention Center. His whereabouts remain a mystery and no one knows if he is even still alive.

Gao Dong, 45, was an engineer at Zhenxing Company of Liaohe Oilfield. For practicing Falun Gong, he was arrested a number of times. During four longterm detentions in Panjin and Benxi, he was subjected to torture. Twice he was sent to a mental hospital. He was also sent to Fushun Brainwashing Center. He lost his job and family (his wife and child left him) and he became homeless. He was tortured until he became unconscious three times while imprisoned.

Mr. Gao was mentally traumatized and physically paralyzed. He had no money and no home, and he was forced to search the trash for food to eat. He had to sleep in many outdoor places, such as on roadsides, in the woods, and in farm fields.

Since the Communist Party began to persecute Falun Gong 13 years ago, Mr. Gao has been repeatedly arrested and detained; he was detained for a total of nearly nine years. Inmates heard his painful screams many times while he was being tortured.

Various torture methods used on Falun Gong practitioners

In one torture method the perpetrators used, Mr. Gao's arms and legs were stretched out and tied to a bed, and an air bag was inserted under his hips to increase the tension. He was left in that position for days and nights. The room was mosquito infested in the summer, and a fan was placed to constantly blow on him in winter. The perpetrators sprayed water on him, jabbed needles into his armpits, brushed his nail bed with a toothbrush, snapped their fingers against his eyeballs and poked his ribs with a stick.

The guards used high voltage electric batons to shock his sensitive areas, such as his mouth, navel, nipples, chin, armpits, hands, and the soles of his feet. Sometimes two guards shocked him simultaneously. They tortured Mr. Gao for long periods of time and they did not stop until he passed out. After two months of being brutally tortured, Gao Dong could not walk anymore, and he was covered with scars and bruises.

Once he was handcuffed to the bed while he slept and he remained handcuffed for several months. Every day, four inmates took turns watching him for 24 hours. Even when he needed to relieve himself, they only released one hand and let him urinate into his meal bowl or toothbrush mug. Sometimes, inmates held torture competitions to see who could cause him the most pain. They kicked and punched Mr. Gao as if he were a ball. They even pulled his hair to knock his head against the ground repeatedly, causing a bloody nose. Some even stuck needles into his fingertips.

Gao Dong’s health deteriorated. His entire body suffered from edema, and he had symptoms of a stroke. Instead of releasing him on medical parole, the officials sent him to a mental institution to further torture him. He was tied to a bed, and given injections of unknown substances against his will every day. They force-fed him when he refused to eat. He lost control of his bladder and bowels, and his legs were paralyzed. He suffered from memory loss, and was dazed.

After one brutal torture, he began to vomit blood and stomach fluid, and his blood pressure could not be measured. Fearing he may die in custody, the authorities dumped him outside of his sister’s home.

Mr. Gao's ordeal is not over. Now his whereabouts remain unknown.
