(Minghui.org) I had a conversation recently with some colleagues, and discovered that some continued to hold strong fantasies about “Xi and Li's New Administration”(refers to new leaders of China, Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang). In the past, they thought that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) wouldn't exist much longer. However, they're now beginning to think “Perhaps the Party won't perish that quickly.”
When the new communist leadership first came into power, some people held high expectations of them. The new leaders seemed to spend less time talking and showing off to the public. Within a short period of time, they removed a few corrupt officials and eliminated two major government departments to demonstrate their determination for reform. The new leaders' speeches were indeed more pleasant to the ear.
Reviewing history, all new communist leaders have “three fires” to burn when coming into power, in order to demonstrate their “competence” and willingness to make changes for the better. This time, the environment for the CCP's survival is different. Faced with the awakening of the populace, the CCP feels that its regime is on the verge of being overthrown, and that in order to deceive the public more subtly, it has to act more real and skillfully than ever. People who have read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party know that as long as the CCP exists on this earth, its nature will never change. The Party claims that it is the dream of China and the Chinese people. But now, people are gradually awakening to the truth. Once they are fully awakened, they will come to realize that the Chinese people will realize their own dreams only in the absence of the Chinese Communist Party.
Are we Dafa practitioners so easily swayed by our attachments? Master said:
“As I've said, everything that happens today in the ordinary society is the result of Dafa disciples' thoughts. Even though the old forces do exist, if you don't have those thoughts they can't do anything. When your righteous thoughts are strong enough the old forces can't do a thing. If someone in ordinary society really did restore our Dafa's name, think about it, maybe human beings will do this, but have you thought about this: how high would I have to position that person?” (Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.”)
I looked inward, and was quite surprised by what I found. My attachment of having hope for the evil Party has always been hidden, and never fully removed from the root. I discussed this issue with some practitioners, and discovered that not only one or two practitioners also have this attachment, but many do as well. One practitioner put it well: “The Chinese Communist Party is like a train carrying a lot of people towards the abyss. The more comfortable the Party makes the train, the less willing people will be to leave it, and more will get on board.”
Master also said,
“What I want to tell you is this: You have gone through great trials and hardships to arrive at where you are today. By all means, you shouldn't let your heart and mind bob about like duckweed, stirred at the first hint of wind.” (from “On the Novel The Cosmos's Calamity”)
We have come a long way. Why is my heart still like duckweed? I really feel ashamed of myself. I now understand that, sometimes when a practitioner points out my attachment, I come to acknowledge it immediately. If they don't point it out, I'm not aware of it. This is because this attachment has not assimilated to the Fa, or I haven't eliminated it. If worldly people are still unawakened, let us become sober first, in order to wake them up.
Lastly, I would like to revisit Master' teaching to completely understand the nature of the Chinese Communist Party:
“Don’t harbor any false hopes about the evil CCP. This sinister demon came here to destroy mankind. As you clarify the facts, you must get the world's people to see its nature clearly. Dafa disciples shouldn’t harbor any fantasies about it. It has taken the lives of millions of Dafa disciples over these years of persecution. And over the course of a century, the wicked Party has, around the world, murdered hundreds of millions all told. The evil specter behind the wicked Party has used people in this world to harm others. If those who live under the wicked Party’s rule can manage to see it for what it is, there is hope for them. Those who refuse to forsake it will disintegrate together with it in the mass elimination. Dafa disciples need to stay clearheaded while they do their best at the three things.
For an entire century, the evil Party has constantly changed its lies so as to disguise itself and harm people. The world’s people have now seen it for what it is. Dafa disciples have, while being persecuted, really come to see its nature on a deeper level. As long as the wicked Party still exists, its nature will never change.
The principles of the Fa-rectification won’t change on account of things that occur in the human world. Cultivating and saving people are Dafa disciples’ magnificent missions. I hope you will do well with the things that remain. There’s not much further to go on the path to divinity.” (“Stay Clearheaded”)
