(Minghui.org) I am a student at a junior college in China. Last year, I began to chat online with a college student located in Zhejiang Province. He hadn't told me that he was a Falun Dafa practitioner. But, we touched on many subjects, including the current societal phenomenon, historical events and Chinese culture. He was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed talking with him. Then, one day, at the risk of being arrested, he offered to help me quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.
This summer I visited him in his hometown during my vacation. He gave me the Falun Dafa book Essentials for Further Advancement. I was moved by his generosity in giving me his precious book. Then, he e-mailed me other Falun Dafa books via encrypted Google chatting software. I read the books during my summer holiday. Since then, I've often chatted with him about my understanding of what I have read.
In October 2012, Master arranged another opportunity for me to go to Zhejiang Province. I met three fellow practitioners, including my friend mentioned above. They taught me the five Falun Dafa exercises. The four of us now communicate a lot, and they help me on my cultivation path. This is how I've begun my cultivation in Falun Dafa.
Spreading the Facts about Falun Dafa
The only practitioners I know live in Zhejiang Province, and I live in a different location. So, I've had to spread Dafa-related materials and clarify the facts about Falun Dafa by myself. I lacked equipment to print fliers, but Master has given me the opportunity to visit practitioners in Zhejiang to make informational fliers, brochures and DVDs.
I wanted to tell the facts about Falun Dafa to teachers and classmates at my school. It took some time to learn how to tell people about Falun Dafa effectively, but Master provided me with opportunities.
At the end of one semester, I helped a teacher summarize the results of a test. This was my opportunity to tell her about Falun Dafa. After we finished our task, I asked her: “Teacher, do you believe in Buddhism? Somehow I get the impression that you are a Buddhist.” She said no. Then I told her about my cultivation experience. After listening, she said: “This sounds like a very good practice! I want to learn it, too.” However, in my discussion with her, I hadn't yet mentioned that I was practicing Falun Dafa specifically. She then asked to borrow my flash drive, which gave me an opportunity to bring her a Falun Dafa truth clarifying DVD from my dorm room.
At another time, I met a classmate in the library. He asked me about my studies, and I told him some of my experiences and thoughts, which he accepted readily. I told him that what I'd said was evolved from higher-level theories. He said he wanted to learn those theories, too. Then I told him the facts about Falun Dafa.
One night, I was about to read a Falun Dafa book when a classmate asked if he could look at the book. I gave him the book and told him to hold it with both hands, saying, “This book is very precious.” I also clarified the facts about the practice to him. We talked for about an hour. I provided him with the software to break through the CCP's Great Firewall and the link to the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.
Overcoming Family Opposition
When visiting my family, I told them the facts about Falun Dafa, the ongoing persecution and that I am practicing Falun Dafa. Out of fear, my family told me to stop practicing. However, I persisted in telling them more about the practice. Finally, they said, “As long as you find work, we don’t care whether you are a CCP member or not.” Gradually, they came to realize the evil nature of the CCP and even shared some of their bad experience with the CCP.
It took me a while to make my family realize the benefits I've derived from practicing Falun Dafa. But, through persistence and faith, I was able to improve the environment at home and gain their understanding.
I've also posted a lot of fliers all over the city where my family resides.
I will take every chance to clarify the facts about Falun Dafa. I will treat people well and help more of them understand the practice.
