(Minghui.org) Ms. Xiang Yiping, a Falun Gong practitioner in Xupu County, Hunan Province, has been illegally arrested and detained in the No. 2 Detention Center in Huaihua City for 19 months. She was sentenced to a three-year prison term by Hecheng District Court and sent to Hunan Women's Prison in Changsha on January 23, 2013.

Ms. Xiang Yiping is retired from the Xupu County Movie Company. She started practicing Falun Gong after the persecution was launched. She used to be short-tempered, but after she began cultivating herself according to the requirements of Falun Dafa her health and personality dramatically improved. She became a very calm and thoughtful person, and enjoyed a harmonious family life.

Officers from the Huaihua City Police Department, the Hecheng District Police Station, the Xupu County 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, the Xupu County Police Department, and the Xihu Police Station broke into Ms. Xiang's home at 6:40 a.m. on June 17, 2011, and confiscated her computer, printer, copy machine, cell phone, books, MP3 player, MP4 player, and other personal property. Ms Xiang was arrested and taken to the No. 2 Detention Center in Huaihua City.

Ms. Xiang's family and friends tried to rescue her. They talked to the 610 Office, the Procuratorate, and the court about how wrong it was to detain an innocent person. The result was that they were lied to and given the run around. The officers working in these offices told Ms. Xiang's family that she would be released, but in actuality the various offices were conspiring to send her to prison.

Under the direction of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division officers painstakingly put together so-called “evidence,” which was rejected by the Hecheng District Procuratorate three times. However, the charge remained and Ms. Xiang continued to be detained.

The Hecheng District Court held a trial for Ms. Xiang Yiping on March 26, 2012, and sentenced her to three years in prison on August 30, 2012. Her appeal was turned down.

Han Zhengmao, head of the Hecheng District Domestic Security Division, attempted to coerce Ms. Xiang's husband to sign a document, but he refused. Han also threatened Ms. Xiang's attorneys. The attorneys hired by Ms. Xiang's husband were pressured and forced to give up defending Ms. Xiang. When one of the attorneys pointed out Han Zhengmao's hooligan conduct, Han said, “I am a hooligan. Who should I be afraid of?”
