(Minghui.org) “One morning, after I finished working the night shift, I took the subway and went straight to Chinatown to clarify the facts to people as usual. I would always doze off and take a rest on the train. I woke up when the train approached my destination and noticed that someone was staring at me. When I looked into his eyes, he lowered his head in embarrassment. In his eyes there was no longer the discriminatory hatred that was there in the past – this was the man who verbally abused me many times in the past, with furious anger in his eyes, the one who tore up the Falun Gong information material I gave him. When he saw me hurrying towards Chinatown with an exhausted body, he felt guilty and his conscience was touched.”
“Afterwards, whenever I saw him, he smiled at me, and when I gave him truth-clarification materials again, he would say in a friendly tone, “Keep them for others. I already know the truth.” Later, I saw him again on the train, and there was only one seat left. He insisted that I take the seat, “You work so hard! You need to rest. Please sit down!”
Fengying used to work in a provincial hospital in China, and now lives in Canada. When recalling these scenes ten years ago, she still remembers the expression in this man's eyes. “I could tell that he used to be a good-mannered person. Maybe because the persecution is too irrational and brutal to make sense of, he chose to believe what the Chinese regime said about Falun Gong having backing from “anti-China” forces overseas and that we practitioners were hired to clarify the facts at tourist spots and in front of the Chinese Consulate for money. He was confused, thinking that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is China and scolded me, “If you have so much time, why don't you go and work somewhere instead of standing here all day for a few dollars. You are losing face for the Chinese people and embarrassing us!” He simply could not believe that I would make time to come to clarify the facts to people during the day after working on a night shift, without being paid a single penny.”
In July 1999, former leader of the CCP Jiang Zemin used the entire state apparatus to comprehensively persecute tens of millions of Falun Gong practitioners who follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, implementing his genocidal policy: “ruin their reputation, bankrupt them financially and destroy them physically”.
“There are standards for the existence of beings at every level in the universe, and Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance) is the principle of the entire universe. In this 13-year-long persecution, Jiang Zemin's clique used brutal means of torture, organ harvesting and nerve-damaging drugs to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, and millions have lost their lives as a result. How could such ruthless perpetrators who try to persecute the heavenly principles be allowed to exist on earth? Aren't those people who have been deceived and poisoned by lies, who could not tell good from evil and have therefore added fuel to the fire, in grave danger?”
Like many other Dafa practitioners, Fengying is keen to share with people the miracles she experienced in Dafa cultivation, and to expose the CCP's brutal persecution of Falun Gong, in the hope that people will walk out of the miasma of lies and regain their hope in life and the future.
Walking out of the net of lies
Talking with this lady who is optimistic and open-minded and glowing with radiant health, one can hardly imagine that she used to be struggling at the edge of death and living in hopeless misery.
“I suffered chronic Hepatitis C for 18 years, which later turned into cirrhosis. Although I was working in a big hospital and tried the best medicines, prescriptions, Qigong therapy--and I also turned for help from incense burning and praying to Buddha--nothing worked. I went to see many famous doctors in our province and across China, including the “ten nationally renowned doctors” who treated leaders in the central government and descendants of imperial doctors, but none of them could cure my diseases. My condition was deteriorating out of control and almost all the major organs in my body were at the verge of failure. My physician-in-charge comforted me and said, “I think you have at least one year (to live).”
Seventeen years ago, Fengying was very fortunate to obtain the Fa when she was in great despair. She understood the true meaning in life and miraculously recovered from all her diseases. She changed from someone who was known for “taking long sickness leaves, frequent hospitalization and being a big spender of public medical funds” into someone known for “working hard, helping others and excellent community service”. Her family members and friends all witnessed the miracles that happened to her which could not be explained by the medical sector, and many of them also started practicing Falun Gong and benefited a lot from doing so.
Fengying said, “I often think with regret about the head of my service hospital that died of liver cancer developed from Hepatitis C and my classmate who died of liver function failure. How wonderful it would have been if they also had the opportunity to practice Dafa like me. I often think of the patients sharing the same ward with me in the hospital and think of the past days when I and other liver patients from all over China had to queue up 24 hours a day waiting for famous expert doctors to treat us.
“How I wish I could share with them how I regained my health without spending a cent! I feel even sorrier for the tens of thousands of lives who could have been saved like me, but lost their lives due to the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong and thus they never had a chance to practice!”
“Falun Gong never says one should not go to see doctors. The fact is that people practicing Falun Gong all become so healthy that they no longer need to take medicine. Many people who used to suffer incurable diseases like me regained their health after practicing cultivation. The mouthpiece media controlled by the Communist regime cooked up the so-called “1400 cases” to try to tarnish Falun Gong's reputation by substituting one thing for another and framing Falun Gong.”
The staged “Tiananmen Square Self-immolation Incident” fanned the fires of hatred against Falun Gong in people who did not know the truth, and it paved the way for the brutal persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP. Fengying said, “Although the 'Tiananmen Square Self-immolation Incident' was poorly orchestrated and had questionable loopholes, many people believed it because they could never imagine that the CCP could have lost all its senses to shift the blame on Falun Gong at the expense of killing people.”
After the incident, Fengying made phone calls and found doctor Li Chi, who treated the “injured in the self-immolation” and did an interview with media.
“I asked him: The Jishuitan Hospital provides the best burn care in China. But your treatment of the victims of the 'Tiananmen Square Self-immolation Incident' was not appropriate. How could you wrap up the victims so tightly in gauze? Why did you fail to provide a germ-free environment for the victims with extensive burns and you even allowed a journalist to interview the victims in close proximity? Also, how could the little girl with a serious inhalation injury be able to talk and sing only four days after a tracheotomy operation? All these are common knowledge. What is the truth behind this alleged 'self- immolation' after all?
Li Chi said, “We have regulations. Any interview needs the Party committee's approval, without which I refuse to answer any questions,” and he quickly hung up the phone. Fengying called again, and the person on the other end said Li Chi was not there and hung up. When she called again, nobody answered.
“Patients with serious burns must be put in a germ-free sterile environment. Even doctors and nurses are required to avoid frequent entry to minimize the chances of infection. How could it be possible for a media reporter wearing normal clothes to interview a seriously burned victim and to take close up photos? Anyone with discerning eyes could tell the 'self-immolation' was staged.”

As early as 2001, the International Education Development (IED) made a statement at the U.N., in which it pointed out that “The regime points to a supposed self-immolation incident in Tiananmen Square on January 23, 2001 as proof that Falun Gong is an "[Chinese government's slanderous words deleted]". However, we have obtained a video of that incident that in our view proves that this event was staged by the government. We have copies of that video available for distribution.” The NTDTV documentary film “False Fire,” which examined and analyzed the suspicious points of the “self-immolation” incident on Tiananmen Square, won an honorable mention award at the 51st Columbia International Film Festival on November 8, 2003. However, in mainland China, the truth of this horrendous staged crime is still being covered up by the CCP.
Who are practitioners busying themselves for day and night?
Seeing that people have bad thoughts against Falun Gong due to the CCP's lies and that they are in great danger, Falun Gong practitioners in China started to clarify the facts to them at the risk of losing their own freedom and lives. Falun Gong practitioners overseas also overcame numerous difficulties to clarify the facts to people in China through various channels, including media, phone calls, the Internet or face to face truth-clarification, in the hope that people around the world would learn the facts and bring the persecution to an end.
On the evening of March 5, 2002, Falun Gong truth-clarification videos, including "Falun Dafa Around the World," and "Self-immolation or Staged Act?" were broadcast for about 50 minutes on eight channels of the Changchun City cable TV network. The big lie of the CCP was thus exposed and nearly 100,000 citizens in Changchun learned the truth and told others about it. Jiang Zemin was infuriated that their lies had been exposed and issued a secret order to "kill [those responsible for the incident] without pardon." Consequently, about 5000 Falun Gong practitioners in Changchun were illegally arrested and a number of them were tortured to death within just a few days.
Upon hearing the news, in order to convince the police not to aid and abet the evil-doer and to reduce the pressure on fellow practitioners in China, Fengying made over 100 phone calls throughout the night to almost all the police departments and stations in Changchun. Some police officers became clearheaded after learning the facts and some also helped and protected Dafa practitioners later on.
Police station personnel illegally arrested five Falun Gong practitioners. One practitioner had over 100 truth-clarification materials on him. He took a chance and put them underneath a chair before the body search. A police officer saw him doing this, and in order to protect him, this officer sat on the chair until it was all over and everyone left the room. He then locked the materials up in his own locker and managed to return them to the practitioner later. This police officer followed his conscience and has chosen a bright future for himself.
“In the early years after the persecution started, making overseas phone calls was very expensive. The telephone company I was with was surprised to see the big phone bill for the overnight calls I made and did a checkup, as they suspected that someone might have dishonestly used my phone or there might have been a mistake in their records. My child was still young at that time and needed care. Still I managed to go to Chinatown and the Chinese Consulate to clarify the facts during the day after working a night shift. I later switched to working a day shift and made phone calls in the evenings to clarify the facts to people in mainland China. I was busy day and night. But compared with the huge sacrifices made by our fellow practitioners in China, what I have done is nothing.”
Over the years, faced with the pressure due to the expansion of the persecution overseas by the CCP, the abuse and swearing from people who have yet to learn the truth, and the difficult situation of being videoed, followed, harassed, threatened and attacked by thugs hired by the Chinese Consulate, Dafa practitioners have never treated people as enemies. On the contrary, they treat them with sincerity and dissolve their hostility with kindness and compassion. Their kind and upright bearing has turned many people around, and they now have a positive attitude towards Dafa.
The 13-year-long call for conscience
“If it had not been for the persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP, the entire Chinese society would have been in a totally different situation and people would be kind and upright, living and working together in peace. Regrettably, the specter from the west has destroyed our traditional Chinese civilization, killing people's conscience with atheism and material interests. It has even turned 'angels in white [doctors and nurses]' into 'murderous fiends'! The CCP is persecuting the heavenly principles and is driving the death train towards the abyss of destruction, and countless numbers of the world's people have been deceived by it. What's most scary is that people are not aware of this and still think they are living a good life and the persecution of Falun Gong has nothing to do with them, while in fact everyone is involved in it and is being dragged down by it.”
Mankind has come through the calamity mentioned in the Mayan Prophecies and safely entered 2013. Just as people were still wondering why all these prophecies had failed to come true, a meteorite heading towards Earth was intercepted by an unknown object and exploded at the last minute before it struck Earth. Immediately after that, a small asteroid coming straight at Earth was also diverted to a different path by a supernatural force, narrowly missing the planet . Then came the emergence of H7N9 and H1N1 bird flu infection in China.
“A month ago, I called an old colleague of mine in China and asked her how she was. In a shaking voice, she said she was feeling 'extremely miserable'. It turned out that she was suffering from Parkinson's Disease and could hardly stand. She had to rely on others to get through each day. I told her she could still be helped and there was still hope. I said, “You know me and how Dafa saved my life. How could 'Zhen-Shan-Ren' be bad? Can the CCP save your life? Don't risk your own life for it.” My colleague quietly listened to what I said and then asked me to help her withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
“I called her again a couple of days ago and this time her voice was loud and firm. When I asked how she was now, she said excitedly, 'You can tell from my voice! Now I can walk up and down the stairs by myself! This time, I also helped her husband and their three children withdraw from the CCP and its organizations.”
For 13 years, this group of ordinary but extraordinary Falun Gong practitioners, braving the torrent of lies, amidst illegal interrogation and torture, imprisonment and killing, as well as misunderstanding and discrimination against them, have been exposing what is false with truth, promoting the good while restraining the evil. They busy themselves day and night, practicing and adhering to the principles of Zhen-Shan-Ren, to bring forth a safe and peaceful future for others.
