(Minghui.org) The Xinpu District Court illegally tried Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Meng Jun on February 18, 2013. The trial was manipulated by the Lianyungang 610 Office. Judge Chen Lidong spoke in a low voice and very quickly announced the names of the judges and prosecutor. He then announced the charges against Mr. Meng and slandered Falun Dafa. Showing evidence comprised of 1000 pieces of truth clarifying materials confiscated from Mr. Meng's home, he accused Mr. Meng of distributing 50 pieces.

Mr. Meng stated that Falun Dafa guides people to be kind. The judge immediately cut him off and would not allow him to speak further. Mr. Meng tried to present his own four-page defense, but Chen shouted him down. “You are not allow to talk about that. If you do, we will give you a three to four year sentence!” Chen then adjourned the court session.

After adjournment, Chen threatened Mr. Meng with 12 years of prison time, stating that his attitude was bad. Only Mr. Meng's father and wife attended the hearing. They did not know anything as they had been notified only a few hours before the court hearing.

Mr. Meng was arrested at home on September 11, 2012 at around 1:00 p.m. by staff from the Lianyungang 610 Office and officers from Xinpu Police Station, and his home was ransacked. He was interrogated by officers from the Xinpu Domestic Security Division and held in Lianyungang Detention Center.

Falun Gong practitioners Yu Peiling and Wang Mingxiang are also facing court trials in Lianyungong Intermediate People's Court. Falun Gong practitioner Zhu Chao from Puyang Henan was arrested in April 2010, and was sentenced to three years. He is still being held in prison.
