(Minghui.org) Ms. Luo Minhu, who had previously been held for over a year at the Xishan District Detention Center in Kunming City, was transferred to the No. 8 Ward of the Yunnan Province Second Women’s Prison on August 23, 2012. Her family did not know when she would be tried at the Kunming City Intermediate Court. Therefore, they tried to call Yang Jie, the chief judge, but failed to reach her. When they received an entry notice of conviction from the Second Women's Prison, they knew that Ms. Luo had been tried secretly without their being notified.

Ms. Luo was transferred to the prison, and to this point, she still has not been formally rendered with a verdict. Only after receiving a notice from the prison did her family know that Ms. Luo had been illegally sentenced to three years in prison.

Ms. Luo, in her 50s, was a housekeeper at the Xinke Software Co. in Kunming City. On the morning of June 23, 2011, she was arrested by police officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Xishan Police Department. At 9:00 a.m., officers ransacked Ms. Luo's home. At that time, her son, Mr. Deng Jun, was present and witnessed the officers confiscate photos of Teacher Li Hongzhi, Falun Dafa books and truth-clarification materials, DVDs, a computer, and a printer, among other items. Later, with the excuse that Mr. Deng had not signed the required documents, the officers refused to hand over the list of confiscated items.

Officers later took Ms. Luo to the Jinbi Police Station and told Mr. Deng to go to there as well. Police officers handed over Ms. Luo's watch, an MP3 player, and necklaces. Then, at the police station, Mr. Deng was interrogated and recorded. He was asked whether he had seen his mother print Falun Dafa truth-clarification materials, whether his mother had created DVDs, whether there were practitioners who had visited them (and who they were), and whether his mother had passed on truth-clarification materials to other practitioners. Guards then fingerprinted Mr. Deng and had him sign a record of interrogation.

One week later, on the morning of June 30, 2011, Mr. Deng went to the Domestic Security Division in order to request the release of his mother. He knew, however, that the arrest of his mother had already been approved. One police officer who was involved in the arrest asked Mr. Deng to sign a notice of detention and a notice of arrest. Mr. Deng refused, saying, “My mother has not committed any crimes. I will not sign anything.”

Ms. Luo was held at the Xishan District Detention Center until August 23, 2012. She was then transferred to the Yunnan Province Second Women’s Prison. With the excuse that she is under close observation, the guards have not allowed her family to visit her. Since the time of Ms. Luo Minhu's arrest on June 23, 2011, her family has not seen her even once.
