Additional Persecution News from China – March 6, 2013 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces. In this report, 6 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 7 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Zhi Tortured, Life in Danger

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Zhi was arrested and sent to Liaoning Women's Prison in July 2011. She was tortured, and within six months she was close to death. On February 28, her family went to No.1 Hospital of Chinese Medicine Institution and saw that Ms. Liu had to rely on oxygen to stay alive. She has since been taken back to prison.

2. [Yingkou, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Guang's Court Session Opened for a Second Time

The Bayuquan District Court opened a court session against Mr. Li Guang for the second time on the morning of March 5. Mr. Li 's lawyer was about to present his argument when presiding judge Luo Yihai stopped him and threatened him. After the family protested, court policemen threw Mr. Li's family out of the court.

3. [Jintang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Wenhua Arrested Again, Her Whereabouts Unknown

Right before the Chinese New Year, Ms. Li Wenhua from Jintang County was taken to Xinjin Brainwashing Center. She returned home recently. However, she was arrested again when she was talking to people about Falun Gong. At of this writing, her whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Zhengang Sent to Wulihe Police Station

Mr. Zhang Zhengang (in his 70s) was arrested and taken to Wulihe Police Station.

5. [Panjin, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ge Lingren Detained

Ms. Ge Lingren from Xinglongtai District was arrested and taken to the Zhenxing Police Station on the afternoon of March 4. That evening, Ms. Ge was taken to the Panjin No. 3 Detention Center.

6. [Guiyang, Guizhou Province] Mr. Li Lin Detained

Mr. Li Lin went to an iron plant in Pingfa, Guiding County on February 12 to talk to people about Falun Gong. He was arrested by officers from the Tiechang Police Station and is detained in the Guiding Detention Center.

7. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhang Runmei Believed to Have Been Arrested, Her Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Zhang Runmei (in her late 30s) is a teacher at Tianjin University. In October, 2000, Ms. Zhang was detained in a forced labor camp for two years. Since she refused to be brainwashed, she was detained for two more months. In May, 2003, Ms. Zhang was released. In November 2004, Ms. Zhang was arrested again. She was detained in a labor camp for one year and three months. It is said that in February 2010, Ms. Zhang was sentenced again. She may be detained in the Nankai Detention Center in Tianjin.

8. [Changchun, Jilin Province] Yu Yingjie and Yang Huili to be Sentenced

Ms. Yu Yingjie and Ms. Yang Huili were arrested for posting a banner about Falun Gong. They are currently detained in the No. 3 Detention Center in Shuangyang and are facing sentencing.

9. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Guilan Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Liu Guilan from Fengning County, Hebei Province was arrested in Beijing. Her whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Xintai, Shandong Province] Ms. Dong Detained

Ms. Dong (in her 60s) from Dazhumadianzhuang in Xintai was arrested by officers from the Beishidian Police Station on February 28, 2013. She was taken to the Xintai Detention Center by Domestic Security Bureau police.

11. [Jinzhou, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Zhimin Left Home to Avoid Further Persecution

Since July 19, 2012, police from the Jinzhou Police Station have been to Mr. Wang Zhimin's home in Goujia Village in the Jinzhou Economic Development Zone three times to ransack it. They have also been attempting to arrest him. Mr. Wang has had to leave home to avoid further persecution.

On the morning of July 19, 2012, agents from the 610 Office in Jinzhou broke into Mr. Wang's home and tried to arrest him. However, Mr. Wang managed to escape. The police ransacked his home and took away a laptop computer, three printers and some informational materials about Falun Gong. They took Mr. Wang's wife Huang Guirong to Xinshan Police Station.

On November 26, 2012, seven agents from the Jinzhou 610 Office went to Mr. Wang's home again, attempting to arrest him. He was forced to leave home in July to avoid further persecution.

On February 1, 2013, agents from the Jinzhou 610 Office, along with riot police from the Fourth Team in Jinzhou, broke into Mr. Wang's home to arrest him. However, he was not at home.
