(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties and in 8 provinces. According to this report, 17 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Baiyin City, Gansu Province] Mr. Li Xincun in Critical Condition

Mr. Li Xincun from Silong Town, Baiyin City, was arrested at his home on May 20, 2012, and sentenced to two years in prison. He is being held in the Baiyin Detention Center. Mr. Li has been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. He is emaciated and has lost nearly all of his hair as a result of the persecution. His condition is critical.

Ms. Feng Cuirong, Ms. Jiang Shuying, Ms. Lin Guoling, and Ms. Sun Qianjing from Qixia City were arrested in 2011. They have recently been transferred from the Fushan Detention Center to Jinan Prison.

Ms. Li Yang, 61, was arrested by officers from the Wusan Police Station in the Hunnan District on September 12, 2012, for distributing Shen Yun DVDs. She is being held in the Shenyang No.1 Detention Center.

4. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yang Yifan and Mr. Jing Changxu Arrested

Mr. Yang Yifan and Mr. Jing Changxu were arrested by Jiang Mingquan, director of the Anyue County Domestic Security Division, and other officers on the afternoon of October 13, 2012. Mr. Yang and Mr. Jing's Dafa books, computers, and printers were confiscated. They were detained in Er'ehu Brainwashing Center in Yingjie Town, Ziyang City. Mr. Yang Yifan has now been transferred to Chengdu City.

Ms. Shang Guiying, 48, from Rizhao City was arrested on January 6, 2013, for distributing truth-clarification materials. She is being held in the Rizhao Detention Center.

6. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] More Information on the Arrest of Mr. Du Xiangzhong and Ms. Gong Fengying

Mr. Du Xiangzhong and his wife, Ms. Gong Fengying, from Mengyin County were arrested on January 4, 2013, for distributing New Year calendars [that contained truth-clarification messages] in Ju County, Rizhao City. Ms. Gong Fengying escaped, but Mr. Du is being held in the Rizhao City Detention Center.

7. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] More Information on Arrests

Ms. Zhang Xiaoling, Ms. Zhong Yanhong, Ms. Jiang Jianghong, Ms. Liu Jing, Ms. Lai Fengying, and other practitioners are being held in Chatou Forced Labor Camp in Guangzhou City as of January 2013.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Huang Hongqi Arrested

Mr. Huang Hongqi is a PhD student of mechanics at Dalian University of Technology. He suffered a mental collapse in Dalian Forced Labor Camp after he was first sentenced, but gradually recovered after returning to his hometown in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. He was later sentenced again to forced labor and suffered a mental collapse again. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

Mr. Chen Sanhua, formerly employed with Fangzheng Network Services Limited, was sentenced to two years of forced labor. He is being held in the Haidian District Detention Center in Beijing.

13. [Longlin County, Guangxi Province] Mr. Luo Liwang and Others Arrested

Mr. Luo Liwang, Ms. Ni Erzhen, Ms. Chen Huaxiu, Ms. Jiao Xiaojuan, and Mr. Nie Hai were arrested on December 8, 2012, when they were clarifying the truth in Shali Town. They are being held at the Longlin County Detention Center.

14. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Jinmei Arrested

Ms. Liu Jinmei's home was ransacked by officer Liu Tongxin, chief of the Chaihe Town Domestic Security Division, and other police officers on the evening of January 4, 2013. Ms. Liu's Dafa books, personal belongings, and 800 yuan in cash were confiscated. Ms. Liu was arrested. She was released on the afternoon of January 5 on medical parole because her blood pressure was very high and she had serious heart disease.

Mr. Zhang Xiangmao was arrested by officers from the Luohu District Police Department on January 7, 2013, for clarifying the truth.

Mr. Xuan Anping from Shiyan City was arrested and sentenced to four years on November 2008. He was detained in Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang County, Hubei Province. Mr. Xuan was taken to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center after he was released from prison on November 5, 2012.

Ms. Meng Xiuli from Fuping County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is being held in the Baoding Detention Center. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She was then beaten and force-fed. Ms. Meng is currently extremely weak.
