Additional Persecution News from China – February 8, 2013 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in seven cities or counties in six provinces. According to the report, seven Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least eight practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Huijun, Ms. Meng Yuhua, and Ms. Song Yaping Tortured in Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison

3. [Duchang County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Hu Huoying Sentenced to Prison
4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Chunmei, Mr. Chen Huan, and Ms. Mao Hua Arrested on February 6, 2012, for Distributing Informative Materials about Falun Gong
5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Chen Lin Arrested
6. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zheng Jinbiao and Mr. Wang Wenjie Detained
7. [Gansu Province] Ms. He Xiaolan and Others Held in Liugouhe Women's Forced Labor Camp

1. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Huijun, Ms. Meng Yuhua, and Ms. Song Yaping Tortured in Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison

Ms. Zhao Huijun, 49, is from Bengang, Benxi City. She was arrested in April, 2006, and sentenced to seven years in prison. She has been held in the No.6 Team, No.9 Ward, Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison. In May 2012, she started a hunger strike and is now skin and bones.

Ms. Meng Yuhua, in her 40s, was sentenced to 13 years in prison in 2002. She has been held in the No.5 Team, No.9 Ward, Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison. She has been on a hunger strike since October 2012.

Ms. Song Yaping, in her 50s, used to work in Nanshan Prison in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. She was sentenced to five years in prison and has been held in the No.5 Team, No.9 Ward, Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison. She was taken out of a hospital at the end of October 2012, but had to have supplemental oxygen. Whether or not she is still alive remains unknown.

2. [Shanghai] Ms. Tong Guojiao Detained

Ms. Dong Guojia in her 50s, was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Xinhualu Police Station on the afternoon of February 5, 2012, while she was reading a book in her store. She was taken to the Changning District Detention Center in Shanghai that evening.

3. [Duchang County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Hu Huoying Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Hu Huoying from Duchang County was arrested on August 4, 2012, and held in the Duchang County Detention Center. She was secretly sentenced to four years in prison in December 2012. Officers from Duchang County took her to Hongdu Prison, Xinjian County, Jiangxi Province, on February 4, 2013.

4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Chunmei, Mr. Chen Huan, and Ms. Mao Hua Arrested on February 6, 2012, for Distributing Informative Materials about Falun Gong

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Chen Lin Arrested

Mr. Chen Lin from Chengdu City was arrested on February 6, 2013, while he was working at a company located in the Chengdu Computer City. He was subjected to physical assault during the arrest and is being held in the Chengdu Police Department.

6. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zheng Jinbiao and Mr. Wang Wenjie Detained

Ma Jinli and others from the Zaoqiang County Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Zheng Jinbiao on the morning of January 29, 2012. Mr. Wang Wenjie managed to escape, but he was arrested on his way home on the afternoon of February 2, 2013. Mr. Zheng and Mr. Wang are both being held in the Zaoqiang County Detention Center.

7. [Gansu Province] Ms. He Xiaolan and Others Held in Liugouhe Women's Forced Labor Camp

Ms. He Xiaolan was sent to Liugouhe Women's Forced Labor Camp in Yuzhong County on June 25, 2012, for a term of 18 months.

Ms. Niu Xiaoqin was sent to the same camp on July 24, 2012, for a term of two years.

Mr. Li Yamin from Zhangye was sent to the Liugouhe camp for a term of 18 months.

Ms. Jiang Xueqin from Qingyang was sent to there for a term of one year.
