China Fahui | How a Teacher Cultivates Herself and Saves People at School

I am 46 years old, and have been practicing Falun Gong for 15 years. I'd like to share my experiences of cultivating myself and saving people as an elementary school teacher.
How I Began Practicing
In 1998, I worked at a kindergarten. The owner of the school was a very nice man. I learned he was a Falun Gong practitioner and he introduced the practice to me.
I first heard about Falun Gong in 1994. At that time, one of my colleagues had a tumor on his liver. The hospital refused to do surgery on him because it was too dangerous. While my colleague was in the hospital, someone told him about Falun Gong and suggested he try practicing. After he was released from the hospital he began practicing Falun Gong and his tumor soon disappeared. His wife always told me that Falun Gong is good whenever she saw me.
I became curious and wanted to know what Falun Gong was since this was the second time I'd heard about it. I got a copy of Zhuan Falun and began reading. Master purified my body before I finished, and all my diseases were gone soon after I began practicing.
Validating the Fa
I became a math teacher in an elementary school after the persecution began in 1999.
Each teacher had a small blackboard. We were required to write some Chinese characters on it and the board was displayed in the school corridor. I wrote, “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” and poems from Hong Yin. I put my blackboard at the entrance so it was very noticeable. The vice principal asked me to stop writing things about Falun Gong. I told him I simply wrote Chinese characters and none of the things I wrote were against the law. He didn't say anything but soon canceled this activity.
Another time, the school held an exhibition of teachers' handwriting. I copied some paragraphs from ZhuanFalun, and they were displayed for a long time.
In December 2000, another practitioner and I went to Tiananmen Square. I saw other practitioners holding their banners high and shouting out, “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good! Restore our Master's reputation!”
We also held out our banner and shouted, “Restore our Master's reputation! The persecution of Falun Gong is the most appalling injustice throughout the ages!” A policeman came to arrest us but he could not move us after a long time. More and more police came and soon a crowd gathered. We shouted for a long time before we were shoved into the police car. I was detained for three days and transferred to a local detention center for 15 days. I was extorted for 1,000 yuan.
I went to a new school in 2007. Another colleague was also a practitioner. When we visited students' homes we clarified the truth to their parents. One parent asked for a Dafa symbol for her child. That child had severe stomachaches twice. I told him to say “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” He was safe and sound after he was sent to the hospital, and nothing wrong was found.
Many children in my class benefited a lot from Dafa. A boy named Qi Qi slammed the door on one of his fingers. The doctor said his finger would have to be amputated. I told him say “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” and gave him an amulet. His finger healed.
Another boy named Jun Jun broke his arm when he was running. I asked him to say “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” He listened to me. The cast was removed three days later and he recovered in less than a week.
A boy named Qiang Qiang said his heart felt very uncomfortable and he had a hard time breathing. I called a taxi to take him to the hospital. I told him to say “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” He said it in the car and I asked Master to help. Nothing was wrong when the doctor checked him.
There was a part about the CCP-staged self-immolation in Tiananmen Square in the textbook. I didn't teach that subject but instead I told the students the truth. I also told the teacher who taught that subject and asked him to tell the children the truth. All the students in my class kept the truth-clarification flyers I gave them and read them carefully.
I also taught my students to recite poems from HongYin and asked them to behave according to the principles of Dafa.
I organized many stories about traditional culture. I made them into a book and gave each student one. The stories about good being rewarded and evil being punished benefited the parents and children.
Previously, the children fought with each other and nobody wanted to back off or admit they were wrong. Instead, they always blamed others in conflicts. After they read those stories, they behaved better and better. In the last term, they hardly fought with each other at all. The parents were also very happy when they saw the positive changes in their children.
The principal was very satisfied with my job and trusted me. Whenever the police came to harass me, the school administration protected me.
I gathered the email addresses of the teachers in my district. I send them truth-clarification emails or mailed them letters to let them know the truth.
A colleague in my office told me she received materials about Falun Gong. She said she read them all and was very happy to learn the truth. I knew Master was encouraging me through her.
I always looked inward when I had conflicts with parents or my colleagues
One day my colleague told me a child’s parents were angry with me because I did not defend their child when he was bullied by other children. They said that they would report me to the police because I practice Falun Gong. I realized this happened because I had the attachment of fear. I reminded myself that Master had arranged my path and I would deny all other arrangements. I didn't have any trouble in the end.
Once, a girl injured another girl's face. The injured girls mother ordered me not to let the girl who injured her daughter be the student leader. I did not listen to her. She threatened to report me to the education bureau since I practice Falun Gong. I said, “You can be angry with me but don't raise any issue about my belief. It won't help you or your child. Falun Gong practitioners believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and it is the most righteous practice. What will happen to you if you are against it?” She did not say anything.
I looked inward after the incident. I realized I did not respect others sometimes and tended to order others to do things. In addition, I did not consider others and my way of handling problems was not fair.
Last year I taught a new class. Two children did not perform well. One child could not understand the questions and he could not understand even after I explained them several times. The other child never did his homework. He did not study hard and his marks were very bad. I taught him again and again and finally ran out patience. Sometimes, I blamed them.
After I studied Master's lecture in Sydney, "Gain naturally without pursuit," I understood the reason for this problem. It was because I had the attachment to reputation. I was afraid that these two children would affect the average performance of my class.
Master did so much for me. I have no way to repay Master. The only thing I can do is to cultivate diligently and do the three things well.
