Additional Persecution News from China – October 9, 2013 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces. In this report, 10 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 5 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Zhengzhou, Henan Province] Three Practitioners' Lives in Danger

Ms. Du Shengxi, Mr. Zhang Yanhui and Ms. Fang Xiuzhen are being detained in Zhengzhou City First Detention Center. They've been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. They are now in critical condition.

Ms. Fang Xiuzhen has been on hunger strike since she arrived. She is now in danger of dying. Mr. Zhang Yanhui has symptoms of severe Hepatitis B. Mr. Du Shengxi is having convulsions.

2. [Chongren County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wang Gaoxiang Sentenced to Three Years of Imprisonment

Ms. Wang Gaoxiang is 53 years old. She was illegally arrested on November 15, 2012, and her house was ransacked. The Chongren Court sentenced her to three years on June 10, 2013 and sent her to Jiangxi Women's Prison.

3. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Li Detained

Ms. Li Li was arrested by officers from Shengli Police Station, Kangping County, on the afternoon on October 6, 2013, for telling people about Falun Gong. She is being held at Shenyang City Detention Center.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Tian Xiaozhi Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Tian Xiaozhi was transferred to Beijing Women's Prison and sentenced to four years.

5. [Dunhua, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Yuzhen Illegally Detained

Police from Dashitou Forestry Bureau broke into Ms. Liu Yuzhen's house on October 8, 2013, took her Dafa books, and arrested her and another senior practitioner. The other practitioner has since returned home. Ms. Liu is being held in the Forestry Bureau Police Station.

6. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhou Yourong's Family Harassed and Arrested

Ms. Xia Yuqin (arrested practitioner Ms. Zhou Yourong's daughter) from Jiangbei was harassed and threatened recently. She was also monitored and followed.

Mr. Zhou Youlu (arrested practitioner Ms. Zhou Yourong's younger brother) was also harassed by Jiangbei District Police Department officers, who attempted to persecute Mr. Zhou.

Since September 15, 2013, Ms. Zhou Yourong, her nephew Mr. Zhou Shijie, and her nephew's wife Ms. Xie Qin have been arrested and detained, leaving Ms. Zhou's mother, who is 100, on her own with nobody to take care of her.

7. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yusi Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Wang Yusi was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center by police from Xigang Police Department on September 30, 2013. Before this Ms. Wang was detained for 10 years.
