(Minghui.org) The Liulu Brainwashing Center in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province, is an underground prison set up in 2011 by the Qitaihe Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC) and the Qitaihe 610 Office to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Many practitioners have been sent there and subjected to brutal torture.
About the Liulu Brainwashing Center
The Liulu Brainwashing Center is located on the second floor of the Qitaihe Children's Welfare Institute, and has no sign. All of its windows are covered with steel wires. An official named Zhou (given name unknown), from the Qitaihe PLAC, is the principal of the brainwashing center. Liu Yulin, deputy director of the Qitaihe City 610 Office, is one of the assistant principals.
Liulu Brainwashing Center
After officials from the Heilongjiang 610 Office ordered its subsidiaries and local police stations to arrest practitioners and send them to brainwashing centers, many practitioners were sent to this brainwashing center without any legal procedures. Many practitioners' workplaces were forced to pay more than 10,000 yuan for each practitioner. Most of the money was used by the brainwashing center officials for their entertainment.
Practitioners in the brainwashing center are monitored around the clock and forced to watch videos that defamed Falun Gong. They are insulted, cursed at, punched, kicked, shocked with electric batons, and deprived of sleep. They live under fear and stress.
Practitioners Detained in the Liulu Brainwashing Center Include a Respected Teacher
Ms. Liu Yumei, a teacher from Boli County, Heilongjiang, was illegally arrested at her school on September 11, 2013, by officials from the local 610 Office. She was taken to the Liulu Brainwashing Center, and has been detained there for over a month. A member of her family came to the brainwashing center several times to request her release, but all attempts met with failure. They were told, “We have plenty of ways to 'transform' her.”
Several of her students' parents came to visit her but were threatened by guards at the brainwashing center, “If you come again, you will be arrested.”
It was reported that an official from the 610 Office sent two guards from a disbanded labor camp which was notorious for brutality persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, to the Liulu Brainwashing Center to “transform” Ms. Liu. They forced her to watch videos that defamed Falun Gong every day.
When Ms. Song Wei visited the 610 Office in 2012 to request her husband's release, officer Liu Yulin arrested her and sent her to the Liulu Brainwashing Center. She was detained and tortured there for a month.
Ms. Wang Xiuling had also been detained and tortured in the Liulu Brainwashing Center.
