(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 6 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 24 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Cangxi County, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Shifan was arrested by officers from the Cangxi County 610 Office and Domestic Security Division on June 3, 2006, when he was distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers also ransacked his home.

Mr. Wang was later sentenced to 10 years in prison. His wife, Ms. Yan Weisheng, and sister, Ms. Wang Yao, were also sentenced to 4-year prison terms. His bother-in-law, Mr. Zhang Qichuan, was sentenced to a 3-year prison term.

Mr. Wang was imprisoned in the Wumaping Prison, where he was tortured. He is now very weak. He was recently transferred to the Chengdu City Prison Hospital.

2. [Zoucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Yongai and Ms. Jia Fanying Arrested

Ms. Li Yongai and Ms. Jia Fanying were arrested by officers from the Tiexi Police Station on the evening of October 17, 2013, when they were posting information about the persecution of Falun Gong.

3. [Chongqing] Ms. Du Xueqin Arrested

Ms. Du Xueqin was recently arrested at her workplace. Police ransacked her home.

4. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Huang Jiafa Arrested

Mr. Huang Jiafa was arrested at home by officers from the Tongan Police Station, including Xiong Shaoyin, on October 16, 2013. Police confiscated his copy of Zhuan Falun, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and various informational materials about Falun Gong. Mr. Huang was taken to the Yongan Police Station. He was later released.

5. [Chongqing] Ms. Tang Mei Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Tang Mei was arrested by officers from the local Domestic Security Division and the Yuhua Village Police Station on the afternoon of October 22, 2013. She was taken to the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center.

6. [Guangan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Xueqin Detained

Ms. Wu Xueqin was arrested at home by the local police in early October 2013. She is being held at the Huaying City Detention Center.

7. [Fuyuan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zheng Yingchun and Mr. Liu Huaibin Detained

Ms. Zheng Yingchun and Mr. Liu Huaibin were arrested at midnight on October 22, 2013. Ms. Zheng is being held in Jiamusi City of Heilongjiang Province. Mr. Liu is being held at the Fuyuan City Detention Center.

8. [Qufu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chai Linyan Imprisoned

Ms. Chai Linyan was sentenced to 4 years in prison by the Qufu City Court on September 17, 2013. She was transferred from the Jining City Detention Center to the Jinan City No. 1 Women's Prison on October 18, 2013.

9. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Lin Zezhi Detained

Ms. Lin Zezhi, in her 50s, was arrested by officers from the Huangzhou City Domestic Security Division, including Wan Huiya, on October 12, 2013, while she distributed informational materials about Falun Gong. Police also ransacked her home. Ms. Lin is being held in Qichun County of Huanggang City.

10. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Jinlian Detained

Ms. Zhang Jinlian, 46, was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Lantian Town Police Station on October 15, 2013, while she spoke to people about Falun Gong and the ongoing persecution. She is being held at the Naxi Detention Center.

Mr. Wu Zhonglun was arrested by agents from the Nandajie Residential Committee of Xianan District and the local 610 Office on the morning of October 22, 2013. He is being held at the Guanbu Addiction Treatment Center, which serves as a detention center to hold Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Bao Lvjuan was arrested at home by officers from the Xiangyang Police Station on October 18, 2013. Police confiscated her computer and printer.

Mr. Cai Yanping, in his 70s, was arrested at home by officers from the Hongshan District Police Department and the Luonanjie Police Station on the morning of October 22, 2013. His whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Lu Linmei was recently arrested by officers from the Suzhou City 610 Office. She was taken to the Shangfangshan Brainwashing Center.

17. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Huimin Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Li Huimin was taken to the Hengyang City Brainwashing Center by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Leiyang City Police Department on October 22, 2013.

18. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] A Dozen Practitioners Arrested

Police officers arrested a dozen practitioners when they were attending a group meeting at noon on October 22, 2013. Although not all of the practitioners' names are known at this time, the following names were obtained: Mr. Wu Shuhua, Mr. Chen Xinyin, Mr. Zhang Xinjian, Mr. Huang, and Ms. Liu.

19. [Xinhuang County, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Gan Qiaoying, Ms. Yang Yanduan, and Ms. Yang Dongyue were arrested by officers from the Xinhuang County 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, and Police Department on October 23, 2013. Ms. Yang Dongyue was released that afternoon. The whereabouts of the other two practitioners are unknown.
