(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Guo Xiaohong from Huolong Township, Yuzhou City, was tried in Yuzhou Court in Henan Province in June 2013. The court illegally sentenced her to four years in prison without informing her family.
Huolong Police Station officers took her to Xinxiang Women's Prison in Henan four times, but the prison refused to take her due to her health problems. She still has not been released from the detention center.
Practicing Falun Gong Restores Health, Leads to Persecution
Ms. Guo, about 40 years old, used to suffer serious mental illness and couldn't take care of herself. Because of this, all household and farming chores and harvesting the crops fell on her husband's shoulders. Life was difficult for them.
After Ms. Guo started practicing Falun Gong, she became a normal person. Her whole family lived happily under one roof. They even managed to send their son to college.
Ms. Guo had often told people that Falun Dafa (also knowns as Falun Gong) had saved her and her family. Due to the communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Guo was sent to a forced labor camp for two years in 2002. She was severely persecuted, her mental illness recurred, and she was released prior to the end of her term.
Ms. Guo was trying to clarify the facts of the persecution of Falun Gong on June 21, 2012, when she was unfairly reported to the authorities by Zhu Jianlin and Zhu Jinhua from Guolou Village in Huolong Township. On June 28, Xia Yuxiao and Geng Songtao from the National Security Division of Yuzhou and officers from Huolong Police Station broke into Ms. Guo's home, ransacked it, and arrested her. Ms. Guo was taken to the Xuchang City Detention Center.
Handcuffed and Shackled During the Trial
Ms. Guo and another practitioner, Zhang Guoying, were tried in Yuzhou Court on January 30, 2013. Ms. Guo and Zhang Guoying testified before the judge about how Falun Gong had benefited them and brought them good health and relieved their suffering. They insisted that practicing Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance didn't break any law. The court did not announce any verdict that day.
