(Minghui.org) A 60-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Wang Shengliang, works for Hengyang Grain Transportation Company. At 4 a.m. on August 4, 2013, he parked a borrowed van near Shizhuqiao Town, Shaodong County. Local thugs noticed that the van was not owned by locals and parked a car in front of his vehicle to block it.

When they demanded money from Mr. Wang, he told them that he did not have any. They started to punch him, and Mr. Wang yelled for help. Severely injured, he fell down, and the thugs broke into the van and began searching for cash.

They then called the police and accused Mr. Wang of committing a crime. Shizhuqiao Town Police Station officers arrived at 5 a.m. and did not bother to speak to the robbers. Three officers pushed the injured man into a police car and drove his van to the police station.

At 1 p.m., Mr. Wang was taken to Shaodong County Detention Center. By 4:00 p.m., Shaodong County Domestic Security Division head Long Yanyun and two officers arrived at Mr. Wang’s home in Hengyang City and began yelling his name. When a neighbor stepped out, Long Yanyun said, “Some villagers in Shizhuqiao Town called the police to complain about Wang Shengliang. Tell his wife to call me when she gets home.” He left his phone number on the wall of the entrance and left.

Mr. Wang’s wife called Long Yanyun at 8 a.m. the next day. Long told her, “Shizhuqiao Town residents saw Wang Shengliang breaking into someone’s house.” His wife replied, “That’s impossible.” Long said, “The van Wang Shengliang was driving does not belong to him. He stole it.” Wang’s wife said, “That’s absurd. I can bring the owner to you.”

The police chief told Mr. Wang's wife, “That will not be necessary. According to my investigation, I have already concluded that Wang stole the van.”

On the morning of August 6, Mr. Wang’s wife went to see Long Yanyun at Shaodong Police Department, demanding her husband’s release. Long Yanyun refused to release him. On August 12, Mr. Wang’s wife went to Shaodong and called Long Yanyun again. He told her, “Do not come here again. You won’t be able to see him. Go home.”

After that, Long refused to take her calls. She attempted to contact Long again on August 14, but her calls were not answered. She went to the Shaodong County Domestic Security Division office several times, but she was not able to talk to anyone.

Mr. Wang is now in Shaodong Detention Center. His family members are not allowed to visit him.
