Additional Persecution News from China – October 12, 2013 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 4 provinces. In this report, 9 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 11 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Hu Keying Arrested

Ms. Hu Keying was arrested on the afternoon of October 10, 2013 and her home was ransacked.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Huang Detained

Mr. Huang, who is in his seventies, was recently arrested while he was speaking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is being held at the Caidian District Brainwashing Center.

3. [Shanghai] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yang Manye was arrested at home on the evening of October 9, 2013 by officers from the Putuo Domestic Security Division and the Ganquanlu Police Station. Officers ransacked her home and confiscated three computers, a printer, informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong, and cash.

In addition, Ms. Lu Xiuli, Ms. Miao Lanying, and Ms. Chen Xiuying were arrested at home by officers from the Putuo Domestic Security Division and the Ganquanlu Police Station. The four practitioners are being held at the Putuo District Detention Center.

4. [Zhumadian City, Henan Province] Ms. Chen Guoqin and Ms. Chen Guiqing Arrested

Ms. Chen Guoqin, 70, and Ms. Chen, 50, were arrested at home by officers from the Zhumadian City Police Department on September 30, 2013.

5. [Beijing] Eight Practitioners Detained

Ms. Li Shucheng, Ms. Zhang Mingxia, Ms. Lin Fuhua, Mr. Tian Yajun, Ms. Xiaoyan, Ms Liu Yue, Ms. Zhang Qiuping, and her niece were arrested on the afternoon of September 24, 2013 by officers from the Beijing Police Department and the Sujiasuotuo Police Station. They were all taken to the Haidian Detention Center.

6. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Jinku in Critical Condition

Mr. Zhang Jinku held a hunger strike to protest the persecution in Hulan Prison. He is now in the prison's hospital suffering from incontinence, and is physically very weak.

7. [Huanren County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Qi Zhenrong Arrested

Mr. Qi Zhenrong was arrested on October 11, 2013, while speaking with people about the persecution of Falun Gong. His home was ransacked, and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, as well as Falun Gong books and informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong, were confiscated.

8. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Lin Detained

Ms. Zhang Lin, in her thirties, is a teacher from Dandong City. She was reported by plainclothes officers and arrested by officers from the Liudaokou Police Station on the morning of October 9, 2013, as she was distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. Officers confiscated the key to her home, two computers, a printer, a molding machine, and 2,700 yuan. She is being held at the Dandong Detention Center.

9. [Sunwu County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Dehai Detained

Mr. Wang Dehai was arrested by officers from the Sunwudong Police Station on September 11, 2013 when he was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is being held at the Hongguang Detention Center.
