(Minghui.org) Six people from my former company, including retired coordinators and staff members from the security department, came to my home in June 2012. I cordially invited them in and offered them tea. One of the retired coordinators said, “The company head wants to talk with you. Why don’t you come with us.” I immediately thought of Teacher’s lecture and what Master said,
“No matter what the situation, do not cooperate with the evil’s demands, orders, or what it instigates. If everyone does this the environment won’t be this way.” (“Dafa Disciples’ Righteous Thoughts are Powerful” from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
I told them, “I'm not going anywhere. If you want to talk, let’s talk here.” They had to tell me that they wanted me to attend a "class." I knew this meant that they wanted to take me to the brainwashing center sponsored by the city.
I said, “Okay, since you are here, why don’t we have a nice talk and I’ll tell you the facts.” While I was figuring out how to dissolve the evil factors and lives that were controlling them, I told them, “I practice Falun Gong, and all Falun Gong practitioners follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be good people. Is there anything wrong with that? It was Jiang Zemin who started persecuting us. Do you know what the opposite is of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance? It is lies, evilness, and combativeness. You want to take me to the brainwashing center to 'transform' me. Are you trying to 'transform' me into a liar that is evil and combative? I cannot do that.”
I continued, “Don’t you see how bad our society has become? Our officials are corrupt and take bribes. They wine and dine, gamble, and visit prostitutes. Counterfeit products and poisonous foods are everywhere, and theft and murder are rampant. Have you seen any Falun Gong practitioners doing any of these things? Has any one of us resorted to violence to fight the persecution we are enduring? We have always followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in dealing with you. Did you know that Falun Gong is practiced in over a hundred countries and regions and that the Chinese regime is the only government in the world that persecutes it? Have you asked why? I will tell you. The Party is so corrupt that it can no longer be saved. Everyone knows that the heavens will annihilate it. Quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is the only way to save yourself. For the safety of you and your family, do not persecute Falun Gong.”
Two people listened to me intently. However, the chief retired coordinator said impatiently to the person from the security department, “Call them and ask them to come up.” I realized that they also had people downstairs. The security person did not respond, and I said to him, “Please don’t listen to him. For the future of you and your family, please don’t make that call. You know that harming people brings retribution.”
The chief retired coordinator stood up and said to him, “You have to carry out orders from your superiors even if they are wrong.” I said, “You are pitiful. You cannot tell right from wrong. For your own sake, please don't do it. Many who did bad things during the Cultural Revolution, or helped the Gang of Four, committed suicide or were later executed.”
He paced back and forth menacingly. I kept urging him not to do bad things, but he said coldly, “I don't believe what you said. I don’t what to hear it. I have read the pamphlet about you, and I know the facts.”
I talked for an hour, but it appeared that he was not savable. He sat down and so did I, on a bench three feet from him, and I sent forth righteous thoughts. No one said anything for about ten minutes. Then he made the call himself to tell the people downstairs to come up.
I went in the bedroom and sat on the bed. I sent forth righteous thoughts to dissolve all the evil and factors that were controlling them. I could hear them talking with my husband (who is not a practitioner) outside, telling him that it was truly beneficial for me to go to the brainwashing center, and that he could go with me and we could come home every day. They said I had to go, or else they would call the 610 Office.
My husband was introverted, very nice and timid. He was scared to hear that they would call the 610 Office, so knocked on my door and came in and said, “Why don’t you come out, or else they will be rough on you.” I said, “They are tricking you. Don’t listen to them. Don’t you worry about me. I know what to do.” At this time I thought of Teacher’s Fa,
“If you can let go of life and death, you’re a God; if you can’t let go of life and death, you’re a human—this is the difference.” (“Teaching the Fa in New York City” from Lectures in the United States)
I am on a divine path. I have my Teacher and Dafa, so what am I afraid of? My husband left and told them that I would not go. They stood outside my bedroom and the chief retired coordinator said, “You have to go no matter what. I will call the 610 Office if you don't. You don’t want me to make a scene.” I said, “I cultivate in Falun Dafa to be a good person. It would be good for me to tell my neighbors the facts and let them judge who is right and who is wrong when they all gather here. The only person that I listen to is my Teacher and no one else. I will cultivate until I succeed, and no one can sway me. I will tell you again, I am not going anywhere.”
The stalemate lasted for another thirty minutes. The chief retired coordinator threatened, “I am breaking in if you don’t open the door.” My husband was worried and began to urge me to open the door.
A young officer then arrived and said from outside the door, “Open the door and come with me, or I will kick it open.” I asked, “How old are you, young man?” He said he was 23. I felt he was truly pitiful being so young. I said, “Young man, you are still young. For your own future and your family’s benefit, please do not help the evil to persecute people. Good will be rewarded with good and evil will be reap evil. It is a heavenly principle. By all means remember that.”
I stayed behind the door and asked Teacher for support, and I thought of Teacher’s words:
“When it's difficult to endure, you can endure it. When it looks impossible to do, you can do it.” (Zhuan Falun)
“When disciples have ample righteous thoughts Master has the power to turn back the tide” (“Master-disciple Bond,” from Hong Yin Vol. II)
I directed my thoughts toward the door, “Door, you have a life, and you need to help, too.” Someone then did kick the door. I felt that it was a pretty powerful kick, but the door remained intact. I kept sending forth righteous thoughts while my confidence strengthened.
I suddenly heard a commotion outside. My husband was yelling, and he seemed to be chasing the chief with a knife. “She did nothing wrong trying to be a good person. I will fight to the death if you dare to arrest her.” I then heard people telling him to calm down, and someone grabbed the knife from him.
An unfamiliar voice said, “Let’s forget it, let’s go.” Everyone then left. My husband later told me that the person was wearing a police uniform. He thought he must be a chief in the police department or the 610 Office. They never came back.
From this incident I truly realized what Teacher said,
“When you conduct yourselves righteously Master can do anything for you. If your righteous thoughts are truly strong, if you're able to put aside the thought of life and death, and if you're solid and unshakable like diamond, then those evil beings won't dare to touch you, because they know that other than killing you any type of persecution will be useless. The evil will have no choice but to leave you alone.” (“Touring North America to Teach the Fa”)
I also looked inward during this incident. I realized that my situation seemed to be a bit more relaxed lately, and I had spent most of my efforts doing household chores, taking care of my grandson, and had been lax in my Fa-study. Many human attachments reappeared. I began to fear hardship and fatigue, and was seeking comfort. My attachments to combativeness, relying on people, sentimentality, and friendship all emerged. Every attachment is a serious obstacle on the path of our cultivation, and is a loophole that the evil is trying to exploit. When I realized this, I rushed to find time to study the Fa and do the three things.
I later learned that the brainwashing center had assigned our company a quota of four, and two practitioners were tricked into going. They went through ten days of brainwashing sessions, and even wrote guarantee statements, though they were extremely sorry afterwards. They subsequently wrote “solemn declarations” to nullify them. Another practitioner had told her boss the facts in the past and successfully persuaded him to quit the Party. Her boss kept everyone away from her, so she was not bothered at all.
I felt that I was inferior to this practitioner. If I had told the retired coordinators the facts earlier, they might not have done what they did. Because I had not cultivated myself well and lacked benevolence, what I said was not effective, and I was unable to get them to understand the facts. I regretted that I was not able to save those six people.
After this tribulation, my environment seemed to be much improved. Just as Teacher said,
“A person can eliminate karma and shed human attachments when he goes through ordeals, and through ordeals he can improve.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2008 New York Conference”)
My husband, son, and daughter all supported me during this tribulation. My husband said, “Call me if they come again and I will deal with them.”
I will rid myself of all my attachments from now on and do the three things well. I will work hard, and meet the requirements. I don't want Teacher to worry about me, and I want all sentient beings to respect me.
