Additional Persecution News from China – December 18, 2012 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 8 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Qixia, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

The Qixia 610 Office and Yantai Police Department arrested about 20 Falun Gong practitioners on August 30, 2011. The Qixia Court sentenced Mr. Lin Guojun, Mr. Feng Yunxue, Ms. Feng Cuirong, Ms. Jiang Shuying, Ms. Lin Guoling and Ms. Sun Qianjing on July 3, 2012. The given imprisonment terms were between 5.5 years and 10 years.

Mr. Lin and Mr. Feng were sent to the local prison on December 10, 2012. However, the prison refused to accept them. The two practitioners are being held in the Qixia Detention Center.

2. [Qingzhou, Shandong Province] Ms. Yao Airong Arrested

Ms. Yao Airong was arrested by officers from the Tanfang Town Police Station on December 15, 2012.

3. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zou Yumei, Mr. Meng Xiangchang, Ms. Li Guixian and Ms. Mu from Erdaowan Town were recently arrested by officers from the Erdaowan Police Station.

4. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Ms. Qiu Yongzhi Detained

Ms. Qiu Yongzhi was arrested by officers from the Zhifang Police Station on the afternoon of October 10, 2012, while she distributed Falun Gong informational materials in Jiangxia District. She was sent to the Dongxihu Detention Center.

5. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qu Shumei Arrested

Ms. Qu Shumei was arrested at home by officers from the Jiaojinshan Police Station at noon on December 17, 2012. Her home was also ransacked.

6. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Yuehua Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Li Yuehua from Heping District was arrested by officers from the Nanyingmen Police Station while she spoke to people about Falun Gong in April 2012. She was sent to the Heping District Detention Center in Xiaodian Town, Beichen District. Ms. Li was sentenced to 3 years in prison in early December 2012. She is currently incarcerated in Division No. 4 of the Tianjin Women's Prison.

7. [Hefei, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhao Bixiu and Her Daughter Detained

Ms. Zhao Bixiu and her daughter, Ms. Guo Lijuan, from Caohu were arrested in Hefei on October 16, 2012. They were detained in the Yaxing Hotel in Caohu.

8. [Shaoguan, Guangdong Province] Ms. Qu Yujin Persecuted

Ms. Qu Yujin was arrested in Shaoguan by officers from the Songshan Police Department in September 2009. She was detained for 20 days. In April 2010, she was taken to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center. She was released in September 2010.
