Additional Persecution News from China – January 11, 2013 (6 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in six cities or counties in four provinces. In this report, five Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least four practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xia Dongmei and Mr. Xia Yan Arrested
2. [Tianjin] Mr. Fan Jinzhu Sentenced to Five Years in Prison
3. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fu Guiying and Mr. Deng Liangcun Sentenced
4. [Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Yu Shuhua and Ms. Cao Yuzhi Sentenced to Prison
5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Yufang Arrested
6. [Chongqing] Ms. Li Maoshu Detained

1. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xia Dongmei and Mr. Xia Yan Arrested

Officers from the Jinzhou City Police Department arrested Ms. Xia Dongmei and Mr. Xia Yan and ransacked their homes on the morning of January 10, 2013. They confiscated photos of Falun Gong's founder Mr. Li Hongzhi, as well as computers, printers, several thousand yuan in cash with facts about Falun Gong written on them, and other items.

2. [Tianjin] Mr. Fan Jinzhu Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

The Beichen District Court in Tianjin tried Mr. Fan Jinzhu on the morning of October 24, 2012 and sentenced him to five years in prison. He was brought to Caozhuangzi from the Beichen Police Department on December 20, 2012. Mr. Fan has not been allowed family visitation.

3. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Fu Guiying and Mr. Deng Liangcun Sentenced

Ms. Fu Guiying from Linyi City was arrested and sentenced to nine years in prison. Mr. Deng Liangcun from Linyi City was arrested and sentenced to seven years in prison.

4. [Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Yu Shuhua and Ms. Cao Yuzhi Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Yu Shuhua, in her 60s, from Ergun City was sentenced to seven years in prison at the end of 2012. Ms. Cao Yuzhi, in her 70s, from Ergun City was sentenced to three years in prison. Both were taken to the Hohhot Prison.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Yufang Arrested

Ms. Huang Yufang, from Shuangliu County in Chengdu City, and her family members were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division and State Security Team of the Railway No. 2 Bureau on January 1, 201, when they were passing the ticket barrier at Beimen Station in Chengdu City. They were taken to the Shiyou Police Station in Huayang Town, Shuangliu County. Ms. Huang's home was ransacked and 40 copies of Falun Gong books were confiscated, as well as New Year calendars and several other items. Ms. Huang was released that afternoon.

6. [Chongqing] Ms. Li Maoshu Detained

Ms. Li Maoshu, in her 60s, from Qijiang District, Chongqing was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Qijiang District Police Department for handing out informational materials about Falun Gong on January 2, 2013. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Qijiang District Detention Center.
