Over 20 Practitioners Arrested and Harassed in October in Tangshan City

(Minghui.org) During the 18th National Congress, the Chinese Communist Party used the excuse of “stability maintenance” to harass and arrest a large number of Falun Gong practitioners. According to incomplete statistics, in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, at least 23 practitioners were harassed and arrested multiple times. Four were held at the detention center and approximately seven were illegally arrested.

Qianxi County: Ms. Du Xuejun and Ms. Zhang Ruiying Arrested

On the morning of November 3, 2012, Ms. Zhang Ruiying, who retired from the Qianxi County Commercial Bureau, and Ms. Du Xuejun, a teacher at the Qianxi County No. 1 Middle School, went to Guozhuangzi Village, Baimiaozi Township, Qianxi County, to clarify the truth, and were reported by Zhang Shukui, chief of the village, who had been poisoned by the CCP propaganda. They were stopped and arrested by the director of the Baimiaozi Township Police Station, Liu Lichuan. The next morning, the women were transferred to the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center. Ms. Zhang Ruiying, in her 50s, ekes out a living taking photos. Since practicing Falun Gong, her serious diseases disappeared after over 20 years of suffering. Since the persecution started, she has persevered in clarifying the truth and has been persecuted by the CCP many times.

Tangshan Downtown: Ms. Wang Xudong; Her Mother, Ms. An Qiufen; and Ms. Wen Yanshu Arrested and Detained

Ms. Wang Xudong, 28, lives in the Jianke Building, Guodali, Lubei District, Tangshan City. She was arrested by officers from the Dali Road Police Station in the Lubei District at 4 p.m. on November 3, 2012, and her home was ransacked. Falun Dafa books and two computers were confiscated. The next day, her mother was interrogated at work.

Ms. An Qiufen, who was with Ms. Wang, was also arrested. Her home was ransacked by officers from the Wenbei Police Station and Wenbei Neighborhood Committee. She was later detained for 15 days.

Ms. Wen Yanshu, 23, who is from Wenzhuang Village, Zunhua City, works at the Xishandao Branch of the Huzi Chestnut Shop, Tangshan City. On November 3, 2012, officers went to her workplace to arrest her but she was not there. At 4 p.m. on November 19, 2012, police officers went to her workplace to harass her again and arrested her.

Officers from the Tangshan City Domestic Security Division and Lubei Domestic Security Division participated in these cases.

The Fengrun District: Ms. Zhan Xiumin Arrested

Officers from the Yongji Street Police Station in the Fengrun District stormed into Ms. Zhan Xiumin's home at 3 p.m. on October 30, 2012, and arrested her. They took her to the Fengrun District Detention Center and said someone had reported her. They then entered her room and confiscated Dafa books. She is currently back home.

The Guye District: Ms. Hui Yajing and Mr. Yan Dejin Arrested, Ms. Zhao Huaru Monitored

Ms. Hui Yajing and Mr. Yan Dejin from the Guye District went to the countryside to clarify the truth on October 23, 2012, and were reported. They were arrested and taken to the Luan County Detention Center. That same afternoon their homes were ransacked.

Ms. Zhao Huaru from the Guye District was monitored 24 hours a day by officers from the Security Department of the Tangshan City Stainless Steel Factory because she was steadfast in practicing Falun Gong. Her movements were restricted and her daily life was severely affected.

Zunhua City: Practitioners in Liangzihe Village Harassed

Officers from the Zunhua City Domestic Security Division and Dongxinzhuangzi Town 610 Office stormed into practitioners' homes in Liangzihe Village, Dongxinzhuangzi Town, on October 17 and 18, 2012, claiming they need to take a “blood test” to harass them.

Qian'an City: Ms. Wang Yanqin Arrested and Many People Harassed

Ms. Wang Yanqin from the Tangzhuang Village, Kouzhuang Township, Qian'an City, was arrested by officers, including Pu Yong, from the Domestic Security Division on the morning of October 17, 2012. She is now in a brainwashing center located at the Agriculture Legislative Division, West Qifu Street, Qian'an City.

Pu Yong and other officers got out of two police vehicles and blocked both doors of Ms. Wang's home. At that time, she had not yet had breakfast. Her husband suffers from the aftereffects of a stroke, so he needs someone to take care of him. When she was arrested, her husband fell down and could not stand up. The police also ransacked her home.

Pu Yong and several officers drove a van to Ms. Jiang Yuping's home in Xilizhuang Village, Kouzhuang Township, on October 23, 2012, to harass her and confiscate Dafa books. One of the officers grabbed some truth clarifying bills (30 yuan in total) from her bag and put them in his own pocket. Ms. Jiang asked them, “I did not break the law, so why do you arrest good people instead of arresting bad people? ” They could not explain and just said, “You know.” They also went to Ms. Liu Fengzhi's home in Dongniushan Village, Kouzhuang Township, on October 23, 2012, to harass her.

Plainclothes officers went to Ms. Wu Caixia's home in Tuoshang Village, Pengdianzi Township, Qian'an City, on the morning of October 23, 2012, but she was not at home. They told her son to call her home. Without showing any documents, they ransacked her home and searched her. They planned to pry open her closet but failed. They were looking for Ms. Chen Hongxia, her daughter-in-law, who was working out of town.

Several people who claimed to be from the Neighborhood Committee went to Mr. Li Qingsong's home around October 30. His family members did not open the door. They went to his home twice, and, as a result, three older people that lived in his home were very upset.

A few police officers drove to Ms. Wen Qingfang's home on November 2, 2012, and knocked on her door twice, but they could not locate her. On November 5, they drove a police vehicle to her workplace. She asked them, “What on earth are you doing? You went to my workplace and my home in a police vehicle? Those people wanted by the police are bad people and I am not a bad person. If there is anything else, you go to my director at work. ” The officers said, “The 18th National Congress is being held, so do not go anywhere. We are just following up because it is an order from our superior.”

Ms. Wang Haina went to the Chengguan Police Station to do business at the end of October 2012. After she returned home, officers from the police station called her back and said, “The 18th Congress is being held, so don't go anywhere. We are calling you as a follow-up. This is an order from our superior.”

Mr. Han Yalin and his wife, Ms. Xue Cuiqin, from Caiyuan Village, Caiyuan Town, were arrested at home at the end of October, 2012. They are being held at the Qian'an Detention Center.

Ms. Dai Xiuyun from Jimingzhuang Village, Ms. Li Yanqin from Qian'an Town, and Ms. Li Fengzhen from Daguozhuang Village, Jianchangying Town, were harassed.

Luan County: Ms. Zhang Qiuying Arrested

Ms. Zhang Qiuying from Yanjiao Town, Sanhe City, Hebei Province, is employed at the Yanjiao Metallurgy Institute. She was checked for her identification in Sanhe City when she was on her way home from Luan County, her hometown, on October 26, 2012. The officers who checked her ID asked if she was a Falun Gong practitioner and she said she was. They then asked, “Do you practice Falun Gong? If not, we will let you go.” She said, “Yes, I do practice.”

Officers from the Sanhe Police Department, led by the directors of the metallurgy institute and Ms. Zhang, went by taxi to ransack her home, turning it upside down. They confiscated a large bag of DVDs. Her husband said, “If you say you will not practice, or if we pay them, they will not take you away.” She said, “Do not worry about that. I won't give up. ” They took her to the Luan County Police Department because her place of employment is located in Luan County. Her exact whereabouts are not known. Cai Jingyuan, the director of the metallurgy institute, said, “She inconvenienced us for an entire night and we only slept for two hours. We took a taxi back and forth and spent thousands of yuan. She should pay for that.” Cai also ordered other senior practitioners at the institute to the office and forced everyone to make known their positions. He also criticized those practitioners who distributed truth clarifying materials and DVDs and fined a senior practitioner 16 yuan. He also threatened that if there were more reports, he would have the power and water to their comes cut off.
