(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted Falun Gong for 13 years. During this heartless campaign, countless healthy practitioners have been persecuted so terribly that they became mentally disordered. In order to eradicate Falun Gong, the CCP has labeled normal, healthy Falun Gong practitioners as “mentally-ill” and tried to destroy them. This has caused substantial damages to Dafa. The duration and cruelty of the persecution have outraged both man and gods. Below are a few such examples of this practice that took place in Handan City, Hebei Province.

1. Mr. Cheng Huizhong Died of “Mental Illness” As a Result of Persecution

Mr. Cheng Huizhong was a 71-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Chengan County, Handan City. Before he took up the practice of Falun Gong, he had many diseases. After he started practicing Falun Gong on February 20, 1999, all of them disappeared.

On August 31, 2002, Mr. Cheng was arrested when he participated in a Fa conference held in his county. Because he was treated so brutally Mr. Cheng suffered from mental stress and subsequently developed mental disorder. He couldn't take care of himself. Not wanting to be held responsible, the CCP officials released him after extorting funds from his family. After Mr. Cheng was released, he was never able to recover his health. On February 9, 2005, he died.

2. Mr. Yang Baochun Became Mentally Disordered Only After Being Sent to a Mental Hospital

Mr. Yang used to work for the Jinhang Flannel Factory in Handan City. In 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. He was arrested and sent to a labor camp, where he served two years. In the winter of 2002, his right leg was amputated and he became permanently disabled as a result of torture in the the Handan Labor Camp. To keep from being blamed, the labor camp sent Mr. Yang to Ankang Mental Hospital. The director of Ankang Mental Hospital often secretly placed unknown drugs into his rice bowl. Afterward, he felt very weak and powerless. He drooled uncontrollably. He couldn't speak clearly and his tongue thickened.

In 2004, after spending a lot of money, Mr. Yang's wife finally got him out of the mental hospital. In June 2005, Mr. Yang again went to Beijing, this time to complain about how he was mistreated in the hospital. That same year, he was arrested and sent back to Ankang Mental Hospital for the second time. For over two years, doctors at the hospital gave him unknown, unnecessary drugs. On the afternoon of February 17, 2008, even with only one leg, Mr. Yang escaped from the mental hospital.

At about 11 p.m. that night, the director of Ankang Mental Hospital and five or six doctors drove to Mr. Yang's house and used force to get him back to the mental hospital. This was his third time in the mental hospital. After such long periods of abuse, he began suffering from mental illness symptoms. On January 20, 2009, when his family brought him home, they saw that he really had become mentally ill. Anguished and in despair, his family took him back to the mental hospital.

3. Mr. Liu Yong Treated As Being Mentally Ill by the CCP for 11 Years

During the wanton persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, the evil CCP has often labeled normal practitioners as mentally ill in order to destroy them. Many practitioners have been terribly injured. In June 2001, a CCP official sent Mr. Liu Yong from Handan City to Boding Mental Hospital. Mr. Liu has been there ever since.

Mr. Liu was 30 years old when he was admitted to the mental hospital. As soon as he got there, the doctors made him take drugs that damage the central nervous system. They even forced open his mouth to see if he had swallowed the drugs or not. One of the doctor told him, “We know that you are not sick. We do this to you because of pressure from our superiors. We can't disobey.” In order to try to harm Mr. Liu mentally, the doctors also injected him with unknown drugs. Afterward, Mr. Liu suffered from excruciating pain, and he almost died. Relying on his steadfast faith in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, he survived and is still healthy despite the persecution.

Seeing that they couldn't make Mr. Liu insane, the doctors forced him to do the same task everyday. Mr. Liu tried to escape from the hospital twice but failed. After that, he was completely sealed off. He can't even leave the corridor. His job is to clean the building and all the bathrooms. Nevertheless, Mr. Liu has steadfastly held onto his belief and once said, “No matter where I am, I will let people know that Falun Gong is good.”

Fearing that Mr. Liu will leak details of his treatment to the outside world, the hospital doesn't allow him any pens or paper. They also banned him from writing letters or making phone calls. Family visits are not allowed. They try to isolate him completely. When Mr. Liu's concerned friends and relatives try to call him in the hospital, the doctors never let him take the calls. Mr. Liu has been tormented in this mental hospital for 11 years.

We can't imagine how a vibrant young man like Mr. Liu could spend 11 years in a mental hospital where he is constantly abused. For the past 11 years, at no time has Mr. Liu not wanted to leave the the mental hospital and lead a normal life. The supervising doctor of the hospital once ordered someone from Mr. Liu's work unit to come to pick him up, but no one in his company was willing to help him. Sadly, Mr. Liu's mother still doesn't want to hear the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong or her son. She still doesn't want to rescue him. Her heart is filled with lies, hatred, and defamation instilled in her by the evil CCP. She stubbornly believes that her son has mental illness and that the government is giving him “kind treatment.”

4. Mr. Zhang Runsheng Mentally Disordered after Abuse in Handan Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Zhang Runsheng, 30, used to work for the Handan Steel Factory. In 2009, he was arrested and sent to Handan Forced Labor Camp. From June to August, officers Ge Qingxi and Jia Yingjun set up a “transformation” center for Falun Gong practitioners. The officers hit practitioners with rubber sticks every day and pressured them to write the three statements to renounce Falun Gong.

Police officers also ordered inmates to punch and kick practitioners. As a result, Mr. Zhang and other practitioners were bruised all over. Some practitioners were injured so badly that they couldn't walk. Even so, the officers didn't spare them. The practitioners were forced to work over 12 hours every day without a break. There was no breakfast for practitioners on Sundays. If they didn't finish the quota, they had to work until 2 a.m. the next day. Because of repeated beatings and threats, Mr. Zhang became depressed and mentally disoriented. He stopped making sense and became incontinent. Mentally disordered from all the abuse, he was eventually released on medical parole.

Conclusion

The cases listed above account for not even one in 10,000 of the CCP's crimes against Falun Gong practitioners. Facts and evidence tell us that the CCP is causing these “mental illnesses.” In order to persecute Falun Gong, the CCP has labeled normal practitioners as mentally ill. This is one of the most vicious and despicable means that the evil CCP uses in persecuting Falun Gong. We can't imagine exactly how many innocent practitioners have been arrested and sent to brainwashing centers or mental hospitals, where their central nervous systems were destroyed by drugs. When used on a normal person, these drugs can have very serious detrimental aftereffects.
