(Minghui.org) Mr. Yang Jianjun is a Falun Gong practitioner in Nayong County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province. He was given a heavy prison sentence of seven years and six months by the Pan County Court. On August 8, 2012, he was sent to the “Distribution Center” in Baiyun District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. His wife, who is not a practitioner, was also detained for nine months.
Mr. Yang was born on October 30, 1964. Between 1998 and 1999, Mr. Yang's mother started to practice Falun Gong because of her poor health. Because she is illiterate, she asked her son to read Zhuan Falun to her. Later on, Mr. Yang also started to practice Falun Gong after he saw his mother recover from many illnesses by practicing Falun Gong.
Mr. Yang works in Kunming, Yunnan Province. Through hard work, he saved enough money to buy a computer, printer and other equipment to produce Falun Gong materials. He wanted to help those who do not know the truth to understand that Falun Dafa is good, so that they can benefit from practicing Falun Gong, just like his mother did.
On the night of August 11, 2011, Mr. Yang was driving his car from Kunming, bringing his wife and two children back to his hometown in Nayong County. In order to help local people in Guizhou Province know the facts about Falun Gong, he distributed Falun Gong materials along the way, including Lianghe, Duanjiang, Baiguo, Shaji, Pingdi, Sige, Shuicheng, and Faer in Pan County. His actions were picked up by a surveillance camera. Also, a person who received the materials from him reported him to police. Mr. Yang and his wife were then arrested.
On September 9, 2011, police searched Mr. Yang's apartment in Kunming and took away a computer, DVD burner, color printer, and other personal items. His car was also confiscated.
On May 30, 2012, the Pan County Court in Guizhou Province sentenced him to seven years and six months in prison. The “evidence” presented was Mr. Yang's personal property the police took away from his apartment and about 200 copies of Falun Dafa materials that they collected along the road at the time of his arrest.
Mr. Yang's wife is not a Falun Gong practitioner. Because she was captured in the surveillance video that day, she was sentenced to nine months in prison. She was not released until July 2012.
