(Minghui.org) In 1997, I found it difficult as an army veteran to find civilian work. I used a connection to get a better job in an electric company because I would not have been assigned to a good company if I followed standard procedures. A couple days before I started work, my predestined connection with Dafa led me to the book Zhuan Falun. I could not put the book down until I finished it. The Fa is so righteous. I decided from the bottom of my heart to start my cultivation practice and return to my origin.

I learned many principles of being a good person from the book, especially the theory of “no loss, no gain.” One would not lose something if it belongs to him/her, and one would not gain something if it belongs to others. If you possess something through fighting with others, you would compensate whoever lost it with the corresponding amount of virtue. I then took a new look at the cushy job I obtained illegitimately through the connection and thought that I should give it up. After a day of mental struggle between my cultivation and personal gain, I finally chose the Fa. I was assigned to work at my current company through proper procedures.

I received only half pay at first due to the company's poor economic performance. The situation soon improved, and I received full pay. Perhaps Master saw my will to cultivate and changed the situation for me.

After the brutal persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, I have been taking every opportunity to clarify the truth about Dafa in order to save sentient beings. In early 2002, I was detained illegally in a forced labor camp in Changsha, Hunan Province when I distributed truth-clarifying materials while on a business trip in southern China. At the labor camp, I did not give up and persisted in clarifying the facts not only to the prisoners, but also the guards and police officers.

At one point, my legs and feet became swollen due to the torture, and they were dark purple. My condition was obviously severe, so the labor camp planned to send me to the hospital to avoid bearing responsibility if I died. To validate the Fa, I said to a prison guard, “Give me one day to adjust my health condition, and I will eliminate the swelling in my feet. It is not too late to send me to a hospital tomorrow if it doesn't work.” Although not quite convinced by my request, they eventually agreed. I explained to the inmate assigned to monitor me that the reason my body was in such poor condition was that the prison guards did not allow me to practice there. If I resumed practicing Falun Gong, I would recover soon. I got along well with the monitor because I was kind and considerate towards others and held myself to strict standards according to the principles of the Fa. So I began to meditate on the ground and asked Master to strengthen me while other prisoners watched for guards coming.

Due to the bad swelling, it was hard for me to do the double leg-crossing position, and I grimaced in pain. During mediation I recited, “When it’s difficult to endure, you can endure it. When it’s impossible to do, you can do it.” (Lecture Nine, Zhuan Falun), and gritted my teeth to persist in sitting. Twenty minutes trickled by, one after another. During this period, the tip of my toes felt as if they were on fire. My feet became transparent and oozed liquid from a new seam. I used an entire roll of toilet paper and still couldn't finish wiping up the liquid. The next morning, the prison guard was surprised at what he saw: I was able to walk normally, and the swelling disappeared. Only a layer of new skin was left. They witnessed the wonder of the Fa. The guard said at once, “We don't need to take you to the hospital anymore. It is amazing.”

In early 2005, I stopped my bicycle to pick up a phone call when a car rushed towards me. With a “bang,” my head squarely hit the car, and the windshield completely shattered. I instantly thought: no problem will happen to a real practitioner.

When the driver came out of his car to see what happened, I just waved, “Never mind, please go.” My bicycle was deformed and unusable, so I had to call a taxi. The taxi driver noticed shards of broken glass mixed in with my hair and asked me what happened. After I told him everything, he said with a strong sense of justice, “Which car? I will help you chase after it!” I laughed and said, “No need, I am a Falun Gong practitioner. My Master wants us to be considerate to others when something happens. As a driver, I can understand the situation. Nobody wants to have a car accident.” This driver was moved and said, “One of my friends is a Falun Gong practitioner, too. He always tells me how good Falun Gong is. I used to doubt it. Today I see and understand that Falun Gong indeed encourages everyone to be a good person.” Then, I told him some more facts about Dafa. He finally said, “Falun Dafa is good!”

As a logistics personnel, I am responsible for vehicle maintenance. For others, this is considered a “fat job.” However, I am not greedy. I play fair, keep my hands clean [taking no bribes], and validate the Fa's goodness through my behavior. Once, I took a stack of billing sheets to my leader for his signature, and the leader quickly started signed it without examining anything. Someone questioned the leader, “Why don’t you check the bill before signing?” He answered, “If it were you who brought me the billing sheets, I would definitely do that. But for him, I do not need to, because he is a Falun Gong practitioner!”

In this way, I validated the Fa in my workplace and let everyone know that “Falun Dafa is good.”
