Additional Persecution News from China – August 29, 2012 (26 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 10 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 33 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Congyi Arrested

Mr. Zhao Congyi from Daxizhuang Village was arrested on the morning of August 27, 2012 as he was distributing truth clarification DVDs in Nanzhuang. Officers from the Jiaodong Police Station made the arrest.

2. [Wusheng County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Lulan Arrested

Ms. Liu Lulan was arrested at home on August 15, 2012.

3. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Gong Fenglan Detained

Ms. Gong Fenglan, in her 50s, lives in the Power Supply Bureau Residential Area in Niuquanzigou. She was arrested on the morning of August 24, 2012. Officers from the Shuangqiao District Police Department made the arrest and ransacked her home. It is not clear where Ms. Gong is being detained.

4. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Dong Sheng Arrested

About 8 plainclothes police officers from Xiluobao Township broke into Mr. Dong Sheng's home on the evening of August 14, 2012. They attempted to force Mr. Dong to sign a document, but Mr. Dong refused to comply. They arrested him.

5. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Yanfa and Ms. Li Hongling Detained

Mr. Li Yanfa and Ms. Li Hongling from Nanliu Village, Liugaizi Town were arrested on August 23, 2012 as they were speaking with people about Falun Gong in Douhutun Town, Liaocheng City. Officers from the Douhutun Town Police Station made the arrest. The two practitioners are currently in the Liaocheng City Detention Center.

6. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Ms. Chen Guihua Detained

Ms. Chen Guihua was arrested in the early morning hours of August 27, 2012. Officers from the Wuyi Road Police Station made the arrest and confiscated her computer, printer and other personal belongings. Ms. Chen was sent to the Xixie Detention Center.

7. [Nanjing, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Liu Yan and His Father Mr. Liu Jianping Detained

Mr. Liu Yan from Xinhuawu Village, Dachang District was arrested on August 29, 2012 as he was speaking with people about Falun Gong. Mr. Liu Yan's father Mr. Liu Jianping was also arrested. Both father and son are being held in a detention center.

8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiao Yuping Arrested

Ms. Xiao Yuping was arrested on August 21, 2012.

9. [Jiaonan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Lanxin Arrested

Ms. Liu Lanxin was arrested on the morning of August 28, 2012 as she was speaking with people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Tieshan Road Police Station made the arrest.

10. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chao Yang Arrested

Mr. Chao Yang was arrested on August 28, 2012.

11. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Ma Yuwen and Ms. Wang Enfeng from Shanjuzi Village, Longcheng District were arrested on August 28, 2012. Officers from the Chaoyang City Development Zone Police Department made the arrest. At the same time, Ms. Ding Wenyan and her husband Mr. Yu Lianfang from Honggouqiao, Longcheng District were also arrested.

12. [Pingjiang County, Hunan Province] Mr. Li Liangji Detained

Anding Town Political and Legal Committee head Peng Yizhao and others broke into Mr. Li Liangji's home on August 14, 2012. They confiscated informational materials about Falun Gong and took Mr. Li into custody. Mr. Li is currently in the Pingjiang County Detention Center.

13. [Anda City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Shumei Arrested

Ms. Zhang Shumei, in her 70s, was arrested on the afternoon of August 27, 2012 as she was speaking with people about Falun Gong. Participating in the arrest were officers from the Longfeng Police Department.

14. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhang Lijuan Detained

Ms. Zhang Lijuan from Songjiang District was arrested on the morning of August 18, 2012. Officers from the Xinbang Police Station made the arrest. Ms. Zhang is currently in the Qingpu Detention Center.

15. [Wenxi County, Shanxi Province] Mr. Li Chenglong Detained

Mr. Li Chenglong was arrested in March 2011 by officers from Yanhu District Domestic Security Division in Yuncheng City. He has been held in the Yanhu District Detention Center ever since.

16. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Gu Fengyun Arrested

Ms. Gu Fengyun was arrested on the afternoon of August 27, 2012.

17. [Dawa County, Liaoning] Mr. Li Xuehui Detained

Mr. Li Xuehui was arrested at home in the early morning hours of August 28, 2012. Participating in the arrest were officers from the Dawa County Domestic Security Division and Xinjian Police Station. Mr. Li is currently in the Panjin No.3 Detention Center.

18. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhao Yan and Her Sister Held in a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhao Yan and her sister were arrested on the afternoon of August 19, 2012. They are currently in the Wangxiangtai Brainwashing Center in Yubei District.

19. [Daqing, Heilongjiang] Ms. Liu Ying Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Daqing City People's Hospital staff, along with agents from the Suihua City Political and Legal Committee and 610 Office, broke into the home of Ms. Liu Ying's mother at noon on August 28, 2012. They arrested Ms. Liu Ying. Her whereabouts are unknown.

20. [Shangsha City, Hunan] Ms. Zhang Linge Detained

Ms. Zhang Linge from Yuhua District was arrested together with an elderly practitioner on the afternoon of August 24, 2012 as they were speaking with people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Lituo Police Station made the arrest. The elderly practitioner was later released. Ms. Zhang is currently being held in the Changqiao Detention Center.

21. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhao Ximin Sent to a Brainwashing Center

Officers from the Yushu City Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Zhao Ximin in Wukeshu Town on the afternoon of February 27, 2012. They sent him to the Jingwei Hostel Brainwashing Center.

22. [Nantong City, Jiangsu Province] Two Practitioners Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Liu Ying from Wanxiangxin Village was arrested on February 27, 2012. Ms. Zhang Ziying was arrested the next day. The two practitioners' whereabouts are still unknown.

23. [Longxi County, Gansu Province] Ms. Chen Shufen Detained

Ms. Chen Shufen was recently arrested and held in the Longxi County Detention Center.

24. [Xihua County, Henan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Dongxia Town Police Station colluded with officers from the Xihua County Domestic Security Division on May 29, 2012. They arrested four practitioners Mr. Gao Chengxiang, Mr. Gao Tianyi, Ms. Yuan Xiuying and Mr. Wang Reng. They also arrested Mr. Yuan Fengqin two days later, and confiscated a lot of his personal belongings.

25. [Jianli County, Hubei Province] Six Practitioners Arrested and Released the Next Day

Six practitioners including Mr. Li Dayao, Mr. Yan Yonggui, Ms. Yang Jiaoer, and Ms. Liu were arrested on the evening of August 25, 2012 as they were distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in Qujiawan Town, Honghu City. Officers from the Qujiawan Police Station took them into custody in the police station. The practitioners' families took them home the next day. Both of their motorcycles were impounded.
