Additional Persecution News from China – August 10, 2012 (29 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 26 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 31 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Sufang Arrested

Ms. Wang Sufang from Fushun City, 61, was arrested by officers from the Nanzhan Police Station for explaining the facts about Falun Gong to the public at the entrance of Jiefanglu Underground Mall on the afternoon of August 9, 2012. She is being held in the Zhanqian Police Station in Xinfu District.

2. [Yuxi, Yunnan Province] Ms. Zhang Guihe and Three Others Detained

Ms. Zhang Guihe, Mr. Zhou Dadie, Mr. Zhang Ruolong and Mr. Qian Haiming (not a practitioner) from Tonghai County were arrested by officers from the Tonghai County Domestic Security Division in Yuxi on July 26, 2012. Their homes were ransacked.

3. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuyu Detained

Ms. Zhang Xiuyu was a teacher at an Experimental Middle School affiliated with the Liaohe Oil Fields Corp. She was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong in Tianjia Town, Panjin, on August 5, 2012, and was consequently taken to the Panjin City Detention Center by Fu Zhenguo from the Dawa Domestic Security Division.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhu Xiufen Detained

Ms. Zhu Xiufen was arrested at home by officers from the Jiutai Domestic Security Division on the morning of August 8, 2012. She is being held in the Jiutai City Detention Center.

5. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Xintong, Her Husband and Father-in-Law Arrested

Ms. Li Xintong and her husband Mr. Yu Hong from Jilin City, both in their 30s, were arrested on the morning of August 9, 2012. Mr. Yu Hong's father was arrested when he went to the police station to ask for their release.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Wei Arrested

Ms. Zhang Wei was arrested in front of the building where she lives on the evening of August 9, 2012.

7. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Guo Shuhua and Mr. Zhang Shunguo Arrested

Ms. Guo Shuhua and Mr. Zhang Shunguo from Lushuihe Town, Fusong County, Baishan City, were arrested at their homes on August 9, 2012. Their homes were ransacked.

8. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Jin Miaoqing, Mr. Jiang Derong and Ms. Song Li Detained

Mr. Jin Miaoqing, Mr. Jiang Derong and Ms. Song Li from Chengfengzhuang, Daqing City, were arrested on August 7, 2012. They were sent to the Daqing City No.1 Detention Center, but none of them were admitted due to poor health. Mr. Jin Miaoqing and Mr. Jiang Derong were then taken to the Ranghulu Detention Center. Ms. Song Li was released after officials extorted 10,000 yuan from her family.

9. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Ya Detained

Ms. Li Ya was recently sent to Baoding Detention Center.

10. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Youlin and His Wife Arrested

Mr. Li Youlin, 59, and his wife, Ms. Wu Fengqing, are from Laodongshan Village, Yangtian Township, Chicheng County, Zhangjiakou City. They were arrested for explaining the facts about Falun Gong in a neighboring village on the morning of July 17, 2012. They were taken to the county police department by director Hou of a local police station. Ms. Wu was released that evening. Mr. Li was released after being held in the county detention center for 10 days.

11. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Fan Shuisheng Sent to Brainwashing Center

Over 10 agents from the Xinmi City 610 Office, police station and Domestic Security Division barged into Mr. Fan Shuisheng's home on the evening of August 7, 2012, and took him to the Wanqing'shanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Zhengzhou City.

12. [Baoding, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Jinmei Sent to Brainwashing Center

Agents from the Gucheng Town 610 Office in Dingxing County and local village officers took Ms. Zhang Jinmei to the brainwashing center located at the Xiaocunxiang Nursing Home on the morning of August 4, 2012. Ms. Zhang has not yet been released.

13. [Funing, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xu Lan Persecuted in Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Xu Lan is being held in Ward No. 4, Team No. 3, of Judong Women's Forced Labor Camp in Jiangsu Province. Because of not cooperating with being “transformed” by force, she has been placed in solitary confinement. Four or five collaborators monitor her and do not allow her to sleep until 2 a.m. Very little food is provided to her at each meal. She has become emaciated.

14. [Chaohu City, Anhui Province] Mr. Liu Kehong Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Liu Kehong, 48, is an official in the Chaohu City Statistic Bureau. He was taken to a city detention center on the evening of June 18, 2012, for practicing Falun Gong. Now he is being held in a brainwashing center located in the Bantang Sanatorium, Chaohu City.

15. [Beijing] Ms. Jin Xiulian Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Jin Xiulian was arrested by officers from Haidian District, Beijing. Her whereabouts are unknown.

16. [Shanghai] Ms. Tang Bao and Ms. Zhao Chuanmei Detained

Ms. Tang Bao, 64, and Ms. Zhao Chuanmei, 59, from Pudong New District, Shanghai, were arrested for explaining the facts about Falun Gong on the evening of July 31, 2012. Their homes were ransacked. They are being held in the Zhangjiang Detention Center.

17. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Fu Xiurong and Ms. Chan Ye Detained

Ms. Fu Xiurong and Ms. Chan Ye from Chengguan Town, Shangshui County, were arrested by officers from the Chengguan Police Station for handing out Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs on July 17, 2012. They are being held in the Shangshui County Detention Center.

18. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Xiumin Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Liu Xiumin was arrested by officers from She County on August 7, 2012. She has been sent to a forced labor camp in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province.

19. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Pan Guoxia, Ms. Duan Meiling and Ms. Yin Fuxia Detained

Ms. Pan Guoxia, Ms. Duan Meiling and Ms. Yin Fuxi from Langfang City were detained by officers from the Yangshuiwu Police Station for explaining the facts about Falun Gong to the public on August 7, 2012. They are being held in the Langfang 610 Brainwashing Center.

20. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Ms. Sheng Jinling Arrested

Ms. Sheng Jinling is a nurse at a clinic for workers in the Shirengou Iron Mine in Zunhua City. She was arrested by officers from the Tanggang Police Station and Kuangli Police Station in Shirengou on the evening of August 2, 2012. Officers confiscated a MP4 players, Falun Gong books, a computer, and other personal property. Ms. Sheng is being held in the Tanggang Police Station in Tangshan City.

21. [Yanbian Autonomous Region, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Qingju Detained

Ms. Sun Qingju from Bajiazi Town, Helong City, was arrested on the evening of May 5, 2012, by officers from the Senlin Police Department in Bajiazi. She was sent to the Helong Detention Center on August 3, 2012.

22. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Zhang Lei Arrested

Ms. Zhang Lei was arrested by officers from the Chifeng Domestic Security Division on August 2, 2012.

23. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Cai Xinou Detained

Ms. Cai Xinou from Changsha City, in her 40s, was arrested by officers from the Wenyilu Police Station for handing out informational materials about Falun Gong at the Qiaozhuang Farmers' Market on the morning of August 5, 2012. She has been sent to the Laodaohe Brainwashing Center in Changsha City.

24. [Ningde City, Fujian Province] Ms. Wang Lifang Arrested

Ms. Wang Lifang was arrested by officers from the Luojiang Police Station on August 8, 2012.

25. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Fu Zhen Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Fu Zhen, a teacher in Songzi City, was arrested at home by agents from the city's 610 Office and Political and Security Section, who barged into her home on the evening of August 6, 2012. Her whereabouts are unknown.

26. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Mao Yuankun's Family of Three Forced to Leave Home

Officer Liu from the Criminal Police Division went to Mr. Mao Yuankun's home in Yuanzhongchang, Gongan County, on the afternoon of August 4, 2012, in an attempt to arrest Mr. Mao Yuankun and his son. In order to avoid arrest, Mr. Mao, his wife and their son had to leave home and move from place to place.

27. [Xishui County, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Qi Arrested

Ms. Zhou Qi, 54, was arrested by officers from Xishui County on August 8, 2012.

28. [Xianning, Hubei Province] Mr. Hu Wei Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Hu Wei from the Xianning Cigarette Factory was taken to the Wuhan Brainwashing Center by two people directed by officer Zou Yu on August 7, 2012.

29. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liu Yongguang Detained

Mr. Liu Yongguang, 50, was arrested and taken to the Shahe Police Station for posting informational flyers about Falun Gong near Guangzhou Boulevard on the morning of August 8, 2012. He is being held in the Tianhe District Detention Center in Guangzhou City.
