(Minghui.org) After being detained at the Hubei Province Public Security and Macheng City Detention Centers for a total of 11 months, I was {illegally sentenced}} to a three-year term by a Macheng City Court and transferred to Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang City on February 4, 2008. The prison guards tried to brainwash me at first, but it had no effect whatsoever. So starting in the fourth month of my incarceration, I discovered by chance that the guards had secretly begun to drug me.

At 2:30 a.m. on October 9, 2008, I was suddenly awakened by the sound of my cell door opening. When I opened my eyes, I saw guard Xiao Tianbo had entered and whispered a few words to criminal Ma Jun, who was assigned to monitor me. Several minutes later, Ma Jun poured a small pouch of unknown powder and sprayed some unknown liquid into my water bottle. The shelf holding everyone’s bottles and bowls was right by the head of my bunk bed, which was right next to the door. Ma Jun thought I was asleep and didn’t realize that I witnessed everything. I was shocked by what I saw, and looking back, I began to see why so many detained practitioners had developed so many severe health problems. Some of them were kept in solitary confinement, while others were either released on medical parole or hospitalized.

A few days later Ma Jun repeated the trick again. He came in after 2:00 a.m., put my bottle on the floor, and sprayed some unknown drug in it.

The third time I saw Ma Jun do the same thing was on January 1, 2009. He took away my pickled vegetable jar and returned it a bit later. The next day I noticed the vegetables had changed color. I removed the top layer when no one was watching. During meal time, I pretended to be eating my vegetables as usual and heard Ma Jun talking to himself, “He won’t last long.” It was apparent the drug he put in my vegetable jar was extremely poisonous. It was said that more than one sudden death had occurred in this prison.

During the Chinese New Year holiday, I changed into a different outfit and soon felt very dizzy. When I held the clothes up close, I smelled something awful and nauseating. I immediately took them off and recovered shortly afterwards.

Xiong Shaoxu, a 65-year-old practitioner from Zaoyang County, Hubei Province, was then assigned to my cell. He had been tortured savagely while in a detention center and, as a result, had difficulty seeing and hearing. At 2 a.m. one night, I saw Zhang Xinlong pour some powder into Mr. Xiong’s mug while he was sound asleep. The next morning I gestured to Mr. Xiong, warning him not to drink his water. After breakfast, Zhang Huafeng came in to ask if Mr. Xiong had drunk his water and he answered that he hadn't. A few days later, criminal detainee Jin Shuangxin sent in some pre-mixed sauce and Shang Zhengjun, a detainee assigned to monitor Mr. Xiong, put the sauce into Mr. Xiong’s sauce jar. They both left the cell afterwards.

During breakfast the next morning, I pretended to be careless and kicked Mr. Xiong’s sauce jar under the bed. The criminal detainees watching us caught me doing this, however, so they moved me to another cell. Several months later I heard Mr. Xiong had been hospitalized.

In the new cell, the guards and criminal detainees kept attempting to drug me in every way possible. They sprayed unknown substances onto everything I had contact with, including my clothes, shoes, bedding, towels, bath tissue, water bottles, and bowls.

When I brought my tainted bed sheet and clothes to the guards’ office, Xiao Tianbo pretended to be paying attention, “OK, tell me what’s wrong.” The only change after the meeting was that they switched to drugs with faint smells and intensified their attempts. When my wet clothes were air drying outside, they poured chemicals on them before they dried out. For a period of time, I had to drink water from a faucet in the washroom just to stay safe. After discovering my secret, the guards directed one criminal to spray drugs on the faucet I normally used. Fortunately I smelled the drug and walked away immediately. Jin Shuangxin saw me avoid that faucet and became extremely upset.

Almost all criminal detainees were, at one time, used to drug detained practitioners. Ma Jun was one of the chief perpetrators, and he caused several practitioners to die or become disabled. The guards rewarded him by reducing his term by more than five years.

After seeing no results from their renewed efforts, guard Zu Jian summoned criminal detainee Zheng Xuhui to plot a new way to get at me. One night Zheng stuck his hand under my quilt and attempted to drug me directly. I woke up and yelled at him to stop.

Winter brought more ploys. The guards sprayed unknown substances everywhere on my bunk bed, often from the top bunk when I was sleeping on the bottom bunk. I often went to bed with layers of clothes on and had to cover my mouth with a wet towel. Sometimes I even placed a cardboard box over my quilt to reduce the effect. Even so, the long-term drugging took its toll on my health. One night I gradually lost consciousness and was completely unable to move. During my two years of incarceration, I was subjected to drug poisoning for practically the entire time. As a result, I developed many health problems, including with my kidneys, back, heart, eyes, esophagus, feet, penis, and anus. There was a period of time when I spit out a foam-like phlegm every night.

Two types of substances were used on practitioners. The first was a chemical-based drug that caused acute or chronic damage and came in many forms, including powder, liquid, gel, injectable, and tiny particles. These types of drugs damaged the central nervous system, cell function, blood circulation, and internal organs. They often led to stroke, muscle atrophy, or loss of eyesight. A lot of practitioners became incontinent and/or constipated.

The second type was some sort of drug loaded with viruses. Once sprayed on things practitioners had contact with, they caused people to develop various symptoms. The guards then had an excuse to send practitioners to the hospital for further persecution.

Seven practitioners, including Xing Hui, Jiang Zhongyan, and Liu Yunchao, had died as a result of drug poisoning. Wu Mingan, Luo Xianbo, Guo Chunsheng, and Xie Fengyi were released on medical parole. Li Zhengwen, Zhou Qing, Li Changrong, Zhu Guangwa, Xiong Shaoxu, Li Guohua, and Huang Dahua were sent to the hospital. Yi Jianjun ended up cutting his wrist. Even though he survived, he was sent to a mental hospital afterwards. Guo Chunsheng later became mentally ill.

One guard who came to know the truth about Falun Gong later revealed that their job was to destroy practitioners’ bodies, and for many years these crimes went on without being uncovered.

Before my release from prison I planned to collect some evidence, but guard Zu Jian forced me to change into an outfit he brought in just prior to transferring me to Wuhan Brainwashing Center.

While I was in the Hubei Province Detention Center and Wuhan Brainwashing Center, I witnessed the guards drug practitioners there as well.
