(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qi Mingxi has been incarcerated at the Jinzhong Prison in Shanxi Province for seven years. His prison term was illegally extended to August 9, 2012. Due to his firm belief in Falun Dafa, he was arrested again by officials from the 610 Office on the day his term was scheduled to end.
On July 26, Wen Jinsheng from the Politics and Law Section of the Yaodu District Police Bureau in Linfen City took several police officers to Mr. Qi’s home and told his family, “Don’t pick him up on August 9. Officers from the 610 Office and the police bureau will go pick him up. We won't release him until he writes the three statements.” Wen then had a talk with one of Mr. Qi’s relatives who works at the police station. He said, “There is a new regulation issued from higher authorities. Any Falun Gong practitioner who has not been “transformed” in prison will be picked up by the 610 Office and the police bureau when their term ends. They have to write the three statements before they can return home. The regulation went into effect on April 1.”
Mr. Qi’s family didn't cooperate with the authorities and went to pick him up on August 9. However, when they arrived at Jinzhong Prison, the guard stopped their car at the first gate (before the main prison gate) and told them to wait. After a while, they saw a car from Linfen City drive by and enter the prison. Four people got out of the car, including two women from the Yaodu District 610 Office (one of them was surnamed Wu), Wen Jinsheng, and Mr. Qi’s relative. Mr. Qi's family talked to the guard on duty at the first gate. He then checked their IDs and allowed only Mr. Qi’s wife and son through. A Jinzhong Prison employee told the police from Linfen Police Bureau and 610 Office to enter the office. After awhile, they came out. The employee said, “I will pass this person into your hands.” The woman surnamed Wu and Mr. Qi's relative said, “If we didn’t come, they would not have released him.” It was raining that day, so Mr. Qi, his wife, and his son got into a police car. When they arrived at the first gate, Mr. Qi’s wife and son got out of the car and drove their own car back.
Mr. Qi is now detained at Haojia Hotel in Linfen City and is being monitored by the village officials and police officers. Mr. Qi’s relative who works at the police station took Mr. Qi’s family to meet with him, and deceived them by saying that Mr. Qi would be released before August 15. He said, “If you had insisted on taking him home on August 9, officials at Jinzhong Prison would have arrested you. They had prepared earlier. Luckily you didn’t insist.”
Mr. Qi wanted to pass a message to fellow practitioners, “I clarify the truth to people wherever I am. Thank you for your righteous support, fellow practitioners.”
