(Minghui.org) In the midst of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong, I have met people who don't want to “drift with the tide” by participating in the persecution. Their kindness and good deeds have brought them and their families blessings. Here are a few examples.
A Teacher Learns the Truth
One night, my phone rang and it was my neighbor, a schoolteacher, who had called. She must have had something urgent to talk to me about since she called ten minutes before midnight.
I picked up the phone and I heard my neighbor crying and saying, “I have finished watching part seven of the truth-clarification video that you gave me. I now fully understand what Falun Gong is. As a schoolteacher, I have wasted so many valuable years. Falun Gong practitioners have experienced such a terrible persecution that has been completely concealed—what a cruel thing. Don't worry. Falun Gong will be exonerated. It certainly will. When that day comes, Chinese people will welcome Master Li Hongzhi back. Sorry, it's so late to be calling you. I know that if I don't tell you what I feel, I won't be able to sleep, so I had to...”
Listening to my neighbor crying, I couldn't hold back my tears.
Two Stories About Prison Guards Who Learn the Truth
I was arrested for the first time in 2002 only because I continued to firmly practice Falun Dafa. I was taken to a detention center where I met a guard. When she found out that I was a schoolteacher, she began to curse at me saying,“Oh, you teachers are so greedy, extorting money in the name of tutoring or teaching extra lessons after school. Teachers are on the list of 'gang' in front of 'triad'.”
I told her in a peaceful manner, “What you said could be true, but you have scolded the wrong person. After practicing Falun Dafa, I always require myself to be a good person based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I always volunteer my time to make up classes free of charge regardless if the student is rich or poor.
After hearing what I said, she stopped scolding me and became more friendly. After several more conversations with her, I learned that she has never been greedy and lives only on her own salary. As a student, she wasn't able to pay expensive make-up-class fees, so she looks down on teachers who do not teach enough during regular classroom hours.
She approached me several more times to talk. I told her how I started practicing Falun Gong, the physical and mental benefits I got after practicing and how I became a good person based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I also told her how my family, my workplace, and my students and their families have evaluated me. She then came to have a better understanding of Falun Gong. Afterwards, she was very polite to me and respected me more.
Once in front of a group of guards, she said, “You see, Falun Gong practitioners are not greedy, don't take advantage of others and always think of others. Has any of you, CCP members, done this? You know what I think? Falun Gong is good.”
The second time I was arrested, I met another guard in the detention center. At that time, I went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was taken to a hospital to get an intravenous injection. One time when he was on duty, he used his own money to buy me something good to eat and wanted to talk with me. He said, “I already have a good understanding of Falun Gong. Our commander is also a practitioner. If everyone practices Falun Gong, the society would have already improved and no police would be needed.” This guard has now been promoted.
